Where can I get an 8.8 12 bolt gasket? I see a lot of 10 bolt listing but none for the Super 8.8

I have been researching the heck of this as well. Mag Hytech sells the Lube Locker brand gasket for the Super 8.8 12 bolt.

Everything I've read just about everywhere indicates using RTV gasket maker is better. Specifically, Permatex 81182 Gear Oil RTV Gasket Maker. It has a 24hr cure time though.

Thanks. I bit the bullet and ordered the $48 gasket. Can't afford the downtime blocking my garage and driveway!

Post an update in a few months so we know how well it sealed, or didn't.

Might try Hylomar Blue with the gasket. I’ve used it before with great luck on gaskets, no leaks. Impervious to automotive fluids. But the Lube Locker gaskets get great ratings best I can see.

This gasket is reusable and it won’t leak. It is well worth the money if you treat it right it will treat you right and you’ll never have to buy another again.

Don’t use any gasket maker or silicone with the lube locker gasket.

Got the gasket. cleaned every surface. Took it to mechanic for other servive and the gasket was leaking. It was torqued to spec when installed. Paid $100 to get it resealed. Gasket was waste of money.

damn, sorry that didn't work out!
I ended up not doing what I had planned.
Replace front dif cover with Ford Raptor cover (has drain plug). Kind of an involved job, have to take out the electronic power steering rack to provide enough clearance.
New front diff fluid
Replace rear diff cover (one with drain) and replace fluid.
I can't do this type of work myself. The new dif covers were about $350 for both (I have about $200 Ford Pass points for the front cover). I shopped around at local shops, found one that quoted $650 for labor and fluids. The guy at the shop said he would be happy to take my money, but replacing the fluid using a vacuum pump, camera inspection of gears, etc. would run about $180. It's a normal service they do all the time. $1000 is a lot of differential services. I decided on spending that money on something else.

It didn't. Paid a shop $100 to throw the gasket away and use sealant. Cover was torqued according to specs. Big waste of money and still had my truck out of service.
