Probably, but the skeptic in me thinks they are implementing it to transfer access to themselves digitally and repo vehicles easier.

They can just disable the vehicle when it goes somewhere public where it's easy to just put it on a flatbed.

They have mentioned it dozens of times in response to review complaints that service records will return.

I care more about getting my zone lighting options back on my phone. Not fond of walking into giant spider webs after dark. I hit the zone lights to see where the web of the evening is located. ?

Tell me about it. I was boondocking it in the camper last weekend. Zone lighting would have been real handy.

Curious if they'll go the tesla route for those with PaaK where you can basically let someone use the vehicle w/ temp key access. Also works for rentals.

I could see that in 10 years with the current rate of development. I'm starting to think the dev team for FordPass is one guy working part time. Taking way too long to fix bugs and move forward with adding features back into app. Almost like they don't have access to the code used in v4 for a reference. I still think they are primarily developing for Apple and porting to Android. That creates plenty of problems even when trying to use one of the cross platform libraries.

No, this is for setting up the FordPass app to link to vehicle. Like if you want to give your wife/husband FordPass access to your vehicle under their Ford account.

I can't remember how much lighting it turns on when you remote start it. Maybe I'll remember to give it a try tomorrow morning.

No, but you can turn truck off, lock it, and walk away and the zone lighting will stay on. I found that out when I turned it on in cab after they took away the app access. It might eventually shut off after an unknown time. I had to walk back outside and turn truck on to turn it off.

I've never seen a company have such a great and unique product, "decontent" and TAKE AWAY useful and well used features in the next rev/gen and call it "improved" ?
To me... the app is all but useless now.
shame on you FORD MOTOR COMPANY.

Place it in generator mode. Activate zone lighting. Lock it up and go for a nice walk in the woods. As you head back towards camp there's your PB shining like a beacon surrounded by angry yet oddly jealous campers who await your return.

They have repeatedly stated those are returning. It is the only thing that has been explicitly stated to be on the way.
You can still enter it on the Ford website for now.

Which shows the stupidity of whichever "genius" at Ford pulled down the previous Version 4 and replaced it with this stupid Ver 5.

Case in point. I use the PPoB to power my travel trailer when boondocking. I used to be able to use Ford Pass to see how much wattage I was using. The "new and improved" version can't do that.

Adding to the litany of complaints, the app is so badly designed that finding information feels like stumbling through a maze, blindly hoping you'll eventually land at what you need. And then there's the information I actually want but can't access. For instance, in the Service History, I should be able to see a list of OTA updates my truck has received, but it's nowhere to be found.

You'd expect that bringing on Apple veteran Peter Stern to head the new Ford Integrated Services would lead to a better FordPass experience. Well, think again. It's beyond frustrating - aggravating, even. What a load of utter nonsense.
