Newly Designed FordPass 5.0 App®: What to Know

For grins, I went to the Google Play store, and saw that the Fordpass app rating is now up to 4.6! WTF! The rating was around 3.4 a month ago, and now it is 4.6?!?!. What a crock. Someone must be manipulating the numbers behind the scene. When the reviews are sorted by "most recent," the vast majority are one-star and two-star reviews with significant detailed feedback. Then there are several newer four-star and five-star ratings with one-word (or just a few word) reviews. Something is fishy here.....

Those are people who go and post to counter the "real" commenters. All big companies do it and that's why any info/post you read on the internet regarding a product is suspect, especially in the days of BOTS and AI.

Well, RIP app. Cant use it with Iphone 7 anymore due to IOS and new FordPass update requires newer ios. Unfortunate, because the phone is still mint.

I have Ford Pass 5.4.0 and IOS 17.6.1 and it works fine for what it is.

I’m part of the early access program for this app and just got notified of an update:

Upgrade to the latest build 5.5.0 (14) for a better experience with new features and improvements.

What's New:
-It’s now easier to share access to your vehicle. When you receive an access request, FordPass will now navigate directly to the vehicle access screen
-If you schedule a trip in the FordPass app, your Apple Watch will now notify you when your car begins preparing for departure
-"Submit Feedback" feature has been brought back. You can locate it at the bottom of the vehicle page

I get my updates via the Apple Test Flight app so not sure if this is available yet publicly.

No, this is for setting up the FordPass app to link to vehicle. Like if you want to give your wife/husband FordPass access to your vehicle under their Ford account.

Review scores on Google Play have greatly inflated to basically the same as before v5 hit.
We keep waiting to get back features taken away, but the EV crowd seems to enjoy the app.

They've not put one useful feature back on the app yet. Zero.

But it was never actually taken away. Just changed forms throughout the releases. I could care less if they gave me range, percent, a gas gauge. Just seeing one feature return that was taken away would give a little glimmer of hope.

They have mentioned it dozens of times in response to review complaints that service records will return.

I care more about getting my zone lighting options back on my phone. Not fond of walking into giant spider webs after dark. I hit the zone lights to see where the web of the evening is located. ?

Curious if they'll go the tesla route for those with PaaK where you can basically let someone use the vehicle w/ temp key access. Also works for rentals.

Probably, but the skeptic in me thinks they are implementing it to transfer access to themselves digitally and repo vehicles easier.
