To be clear, I can't operate PPOB from the app but I can monitor it.
That's ONE example of what I was talking about.
FordPass originally had a few "extended" capabilities that were based on Bluetooth connectivity (point<>point), rather than cloud based.

They were all removed.

But now that I am witnessing two different vehicles in FordPass, AND on both FordPass platforms (V4/V5), I can see that Ford is going in both directions at the same time.

Stripping and building

I know the eye rolls I probably trigger when I predict that Ford just might be bringing Bluetooth back to the Powerboost in V5?

If so, I will be thrilled with the ability to use FordPass with my truck in the ways I currently do with the car.
Not the exact same feature set obviously. But the same leveraging of protocols for the features each vehicle is equipped with.

Give me back my remote control of ProPower!

Yeah, it's not off to a great start. Not sure why they thought it was in need of a drastic overhaul on both the frontend and backend breaking a lot of features at the same time. Not sure how they've managed to screw up so much especially when dealing with variables through the API. App has had over dozen updates and performance/features are worse.

What is your biggest miss with V5 and the Mach-E currently?

On mine there is almost 100% parity between V4-V5 now.

At least for the functions I most care about.

PAAK
Target SOC when L2 charging
Frunk/trunk opening

Those 3 features have made FordPass a part of my daily use far more than FordPass ever offered with the truck.

Haven't fixed the charging reporting yet and the lack of features we enjoyed re: PB specific. The app wasn't even displaying vehicle images. I had to uninstall / reinstall. Despite 12 updates to the app, the only thing that has occurred with said updates is breaking the charging.

PAAK, SOC target, and the frunk/trunk opening have always worked for me since I got the MME in 2022. The 2 recent different glitches of the app combined with the missing PB features aren't reassuring.

Ford can't build vehicles correctly and folks expect them to make an app that functions? HA!

I love all 3 of my current Fords.
15 years and 150,000 combined miles. Nary an issue with any of them.

FordPass isn't their strong suit. Admittedly.
But there wasn't even such a thing that long ago.

I have to admit, most of the features in V4 that aren’t in V5 I don’t use. These features seemed to be more tailored to those that tow trailers and use power equipment, such as the trailer light check, on board scales/smart hitch(long gone) and pro power on board. I hope to get a trailer this year so I can use these features but I’m not too confident V5 will include them.

I know securialert wasn’t popular with many with all the false, delayed or no alerts but I liked it. Ford is known for taking away features so I see myself not using V5 if it’s not greatly improved.

That popped up on my phone the other day to0. i dont like the "fresh clean design" ... i can find anything, everthing is hidden. I'll never understand the constant need to "hide" everything. i want ALL the major common functions on the home screen, at a clance. i did not give it a good review.

I just opened up the app and there was a button to enter in to new App. Just wish they would fix the software that has screwed up my APIM.

I installed the new app and then reverted back to the old one.
I remote start my truck, I don't turn it on. I also use the zone lighting through the app and the trailer light check. I don't know why you would remove features. Usually when you upgrade a app you add additional features.

Looks like they officially released the FordPass 5.0 app.

It's still missing a bunch of features compared to the old version and once you update it, you can no longer revert to an older version.

I guess its like how they stagger the OTAs. Just checked mine and its still using the old app version.

I never even got the button to try it.

I got this in my App Store as well. I’m holding out as long as I can on V4 until it’s not supported anymore unless they make the necessary improvements to V5. I had to make sure my automatic downloads was turned off so I don’t get a nasty surprise tomorrow morning.
