Keyless Keyfob? New Fordpass App Update

With the new FordPass update they made it available to start your truck directly from your lockscreen on iOS. With this I've found myself not ever touching my keys and solely using my phone to remote start my truck.

I was wondering if there are any 3rd party replacement keys out there that are barebones and only include the NFC tag that lets your truck know the key is in it? So basically, a key fob with no metal key and no buttons. I ask because I hate having things in my pockets and like to go as minimalistic as possible. Hopefully there's something already available and I don't have to tear apart an amazon key with the 3d printer and soldering iron.

Yeah you can customize your Lock Screen on iOS. I believe Ford updates iOS first and then android later, based on what I read on another thread. This is a new feature as of a week ago so it may be coming to android soon.

Get a fob programmed to your truck....take it apart and cut off the switches inside or put a drop of crazy glue on the switch so it can not be pushed. Fobs are cheap on Amazon.

My 2025 XL came with a fob that just operates the door/tailgate locks. There is a "switch blade" style ignition key that pops out of the fob. I'm fine with it for now.

I desperately miss phone as a key from my old lightning. I wish Ford would have it on our trucks also.

I can remote star from the app, for example to get AC going a few minutes before I get in
I always assumed I can't drive off until I insert the key though.

I must say that it's easy to get spoiled with true keyless entry. My cheap Nissan will unlock and start with the fob in my pocket, never have to touch it.
