I have one laptop with 3.7 fdrs and one with 3.8.. both are running windows 11 and I see no difference in performance between the 2 or any connection issue to the ford server.

I didn't run into the issue until updating to the latest 38.5.5, that version specifically seems to be causing issues for numerous people on Windows 11 specifically

Well I went to update my GWM last night and the update was missing.. in its place was a new APIM update and a TCU update.. I was also wrong on my FDR software version for my home laptop it was on 38.5.4... I did the APIM update on old software and it worked fine.. I then received a email to update to 38.5.5 so updated and tried to update the TCU this did not work well. I was getting a lost communication error.. i still have a ACM update that wont work because i am not adding a sub to the system but it keeps showing i need this update.. i also have a IPC update that i am not sure i wont to do unless someone says its really needed.. i thought i would be done messing with updates since i got ride of my 2019 and no longer had to update sync 3.4.. guess i was wrong..

38.5.5 is bugged as posted earlier in thread.
Uninstall and go to earlier version if you can.

I just clicked no on the add sub prompt and it continued through with the update, I also had a cycle of 5-6 GWM and APIM updates back and fourth, I have received two of the power up updates this week since completing FDRS updates Monday morning

your unreal engine defaulted back to 0000. Go into Forscan and change it back to 0001

This happened to me too.
But what the heck is an unreal engine? The electric motor? :)

For the small percentage of us that have an IPC module that won't update OTA and refuse to update using USB, does this modules problem updating cause more problems with normal operation of the truck?

Not sure about problems, but it will hold you up on updates.

My truck was in an odd state when I bought it in spring. Since it couldn't install IPC update it did somehow update some other things instead. My truck didn't match up with the OTA listings on here, but FDRS caught me up.

I do wonder if the updates installing out of order for trucks here as Rugedraw was mentioning earlier in year is result of trucks unable to update IPC using OTA. ?

It seems like that same failed path used for OTA updates would cause other issues with normal cross communication between modules.

I can only assume the Ethernet is used only for updates and the can bus is used for communication between modules. Jesse would be the one to know about that stuff I'm just guessing.

I don't think so. The reason our trucks can't get IPC updates the traditional way is hardware related; not software.

I don't think so here, either. When modules have issues communicating with one another, the truck records soft codes that can be seen in PTS. My truck is not recording any DTC's indicating the IPC has any communication issues with other modules.
