For the past 20 years I've used Cover All tire shine, which works great if you have gloss wheels because you won't notice any accidental overspray and it's easy to wipe off anything that does overspray. Now that I have satin black wheels, I don't want any overspray because "wet" spots on the wheels stand out like a sore thumb. When these wheels are dry, they don't have shine to them. I'm just looking for a product that I can wipe onto the the tire to keep it looking new, or at least not dull, but it does not have to shine or look wet. The picture below is right after the the wheels and tires were installed and that's the look I'm going for.

What products are you using and how do you apply them?

I've used the chemical guys tire products, the black magic tire products. I like both of them but I think the chemical guys doesn't fling off. I use one of the tire applicator pads to apply to the tires and it seems to work good for me.

Haven't used it on the truck, but I picked this up a few years back for our other cars -

Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel (https://a.co/d/7vfmxUT)

If I remember right, I was looking for a more matte look and this is where my research got me.

Here's a link to the company I purchase all my detailing products from. They have a variety of tire dressings to choose from and pretty much anything else you may need/want. I use "Crystal Blue" for the tires and "Body Gloss" in between waxing. I spray both products on an applicator and then wipe it on the tires and body, which eliminates overspray.

Outstanding wheels you have there. I have not seen those before, who makes them?

Aero Cosmetics Rubber Care Ceramic is what a lot of people use that want to keep the "gloss" to a minimum. Probably perfect with those nice matte black wheels.

Adam’s Graphene TIre Shine applied using a foam applicator from Amazon. Looks pretty fantastic, not too glossy not too matte, and I’ve never had any slinging issues whatsoever as long as it’s applied to a clean(ish) tire. I find it lasts fairly long too. I’ve tried the chemical guys and it slings pretty easily, as it’s a lot thicker than the Adam’s.

Note: First image is freshly applied, second image is after about a week and 750 miles of driving on a road trip. Lasts pretty well over time/mileage.

I’ve been experimenting with Cerakote Rapid ceramic. So far I’m liking it and it seems to last a while. It has a low gloss, new-tire look to it which suits my tastes.

Here's the stuff I use. Spray on and dries very fast with no overspray.
Made in the USA. Seems to last pretty long

Oddly enough... smells like cherries...

I have been using Griot's Tire Shine in satin finish lately (gloss is okay but I want more subdued tires lately). Spray on, can wipe down if you want, no fling. But you want to wipe overspray off your rims to prevent brake dust clinging to it. Black rims definitely help with that.

Chemical guys VRP, applied with a foam applicator. Might not be the best method for knobby sidewalls though...

The technology has come a long way. The best all-around product line I've used which is now going on 11 years, is TuffShine.

Their brush and tire concentrate cleaner is incredible. Usually takes four or more applications to get the suds to be white signaling the tire is clear of any build up. This is where most people go wrong because they trap the brown underneath with all of the old coatings that they don't get off.

Once clean, I apply the coating and I typically find three coatings is sufficient for me. A much more mature and subdued gloss. No grease, doesn't attract dirt etc. I usually only have to do it a couple times a year or so.
