I just installed mine today after buying it like 2 months ago lol. It’s a small detail, but damn does it make a difference having the readout on the knobs. It looks REALLY good that way. It takes away some of the sting of over paying. Had no problem dropping in my as-builts either.

Did you do a 'write all"? I'm asking bc for some reason mine always fails on write all and I haven't figured out why. I'm sure I either need to go back a forscan version or something. I'm 1 version behind currently. But I might just be able to write each line individually when I do mine.

I loaded a backup. I can’t recall exactly what the button is labeled but I backed up my original and loaded it and saved it in the new one. The yes I did a write all. Because of the issues you had, I ran through every single function just to make sure it all worked (except the heated steering whee button since I haven’t installed it yet

One thing I found unexpected after seeing pics (where they really seemed prominent) is that the numbers are not as bright as expected in daylight. They almost washout with direct sun coming thru a side window or roof of the shade is back.
They are great at night and most indirect light though.
These buying now are fortunate. total no brainer @ $100, especially if wanting the hard button for heated wheel.

I was having a failure when writing all. I realized I was running an older version of Forscan. Download the latest version and I bet your problem will go away.

I feel exactly the same way. I feel it makes a huge difference and feels more complete to me.

Feel your brother! I paid 4x current in July. A 75% drop in price still leaves me baffled.
Now....if they could only do that with the entire truck....then we'd be talking ;)

I had to buy a backup at that price. Ford would likely not replace with the same if it dies in a couple years, and by then the price would be who knows.

Tip for those ordering. Tasca vs https://ford.oempartsonline.com/
They use the same backend, but Tasca pays to be higher up on Google search. Tasca charges local use tax and a bit more in shipping (they will send you 5% off shipping if dont complete your order after you enter info). But you can avoid local use tax and get better shipping if you use the second and get an out of state dealer.

I always compare prices. Go with the lower. Abandon cart for 24 hours to see what deal they send and then order. I do that with pretty much everything I order online.

So, being as you did not have them before the install and you did an as built download did you need to change anything to get them to work? In another way to ask are all the lines in the HVAC module the same as you had previously? Thanks

Yes, I saved my factory as builts and simply downloaded them into the new one and it works exactly as expected. I have the HSW button but have not yet installed the HSW, so that is one change I’ll be making in the near future.

It really was that simple, as far as FORScan changes

Ok, great, thanks for the info. I'm familiar with Forscan use but was just surprised that all values remain the same when going to the knobs with readouts from those with no readouts. I guess they have always been enabled even in out trucks without the digital knobs, good to know though!

2023 f150 platinum 701a on order
Purchased about ten days ago from Tasca for my heated steering wheel
Project when my 22 finally arrives. Was ordering for the heated wheel and was shocked to get it with the led readouts.

I went ahead and ordered the control unit from Tasca. Heres to hoping I can get one with the numbers on the dials too for whenever my truck decides to show up. Do you know if that steering wheel part number is the correct one for a 23 platinum with bluecruise? I can't seem to figure out what part number the steering wheel would be for the platinums.

There is this one the ML3Z-3600-FH that says without king ranch with active steering but the price is insane. I'm not sure if Bluecruise is considered active steering but it's crazy. I also know that the wheels can be disassembled to some extent. I just don't know how much can be moved over.

Thanks for all the great info guys, just installed mine and it works perfectly. I got the module for $110 shipped from Royalty OEM Parts and after installing used the Forscan Load AB and the write all. Easy peasy!
Want to understand 'Load AB'. Did you have to change anything? Or you just had to re-write same settings with the new unit plugged in? Got mine just haven't installed it yet, thanks!

Back up your current AB (as builts) and then load and write them into the new one after installation. It’s literally that simple
