Can't do so North of the Mason Dixon line, now can I? NY, NJ and other states would gladly put me in jail for the crime of being armed.

Let's be honest here for a bit. I drive a lot and people are nuts now. It is not up to me when some crook wants an insurance payout or lawsuit.
You are woefully incorrect

Lived in Florida for almost 20 years, Tampa and Miami. It’s no different from anywhere.

Your attitude is what gets you in the situations you describe.

Avoid the confrontations, stay out of the ghetto

@cujet An idea for you maybe to invest into something like a Stage 1 Whipple supercharger for increased torque/acceleration. You won't bypass the governor at stage 1 though, but you'll have more get up and go ponies to go from say 35 to 80 to create separation. Flat torque curve.

Who says you need to achieve top end to get away? A Stage 2 tuned can go up to 135MPH from what I've heard, but you void your warranty. The thing to keep in mind is none of this matters if the road rage driver can match your acceleration and top end as well, so you are assuming they don't have a capable vehicle as well. It's like trying to escape from a Bugatti. Use the surrounding environment to your advantage. An open 4 lane highway with little traffic is hard to escape from unless you can seize an opportunity to box them in at some point. It's easy to follow you when there's no obstacles in the way. None of this matters if you can't create separation in some fashion.

Ok, I'll bite too ... I too drive a lot (about 40K per year) and never have issues with the driving public. I attempt to wave politely, smile while I drive and keep a good attitude. I pass on the left, drive on the right and keep it about 10 over the limit most of the time. So exactly, how many people are confronting you in a given week or so? Maybe that is just a FL thing?
Same here, I drive unassuming vehicles, like my 05 Town Car (that baby can fly and float) and my soon to be here 05 F-150 King Ranch. Like PowerboostSoCal said, I drive about 10 over rarely have a problem. I was in Calgary yesterday on Deerfoot Trail (leadfoot trail), I tested the brakes on my Lincoln I tell ya, Calgary's Deerfoot becomes like a traffic jam you would see in LA, accidents you see in the middle of summer you only think could be performed in hollywood, everyone in Alberta hates the Deerfoot.

I think the obvious answer here is to never live in Florida.

I mean not that I needed any more reasons than I've had from my 4 trips to that state, but apparently having a life/death need to go over 103 mph seems like a good one to add to the list.
Glad to be of assistance sir ?

Unfortunately I’m in the same boat. First time truck special ordered. 24 EB Plat. Went from everything over 40 years. Worst thing on mine is the biggest pos tranny ever! Don’t feel bad we now drive 3 ton slugs that will not compete on the highway. I feel your pain every day on the highway!

Yeah, it sucks that the speed limiter is set so low. It’s like in those movies where killer big rigs can chase down slow cars and ram them

Am I the only one around here who never even considered pushing a 5000 lb truck to 100+ mph on public roads? Was is wrong with you people?!

It's definitely a FL thing. Driving styles are mostly one extreme or the other here: below the limit and oblivious to the outside world or psychotically fast and aggressive. The closer to Miami you are the worse it gets. Sometimes the same person will even swap from one style to the other randomly. Worst drivers on the East Coast by far, backed up by my car insurance tripling in price just moving here from NC.
MA and NY definitely have something to say about FL being the worst.

I've done it, but I made sure to do it on the flattest, most wide open, see for miles, good road, crops down, no one around road I know of. And I did it once.

my F150 is extremely stable at 105 mph. There is a lot more left if it’s not limited

It happened again this Sunday, on a 650 mile trip from South Florida. Road rage drivers on interstate 95. The fact that I'm limited in speed and can't get away from these angry drivers is total nonsense.

But come on. Let me speed away from the angry if I need to. I do not want to be forced to fight.

#Ford, #5Star etc, all I need is speed limiter removal. Via an update, via a tune, I don't care. But I want it gone.

Not sure how you are putting yourself in these situations, guess I am just lucky in 30 years of driving I have never been in a place where I need to drive 100mph plus to avoid someone else who is driving aggressively. A bit ironic that your response to someone driving aggressively is to increase speeds into the triple digits, seems it would just escalate the situation but what do I know?

Anyway you truck may have a 5.0 but its not a mustang its a 6,000lb brick. There are a ton of reaosns its limited to 105mph and its not as simple as a chip to go faster. Think a few people have mentioned the rating of the tires, that is a problem, but we can solve that.

Larger problem is the drive shaft. Its long, heavy, and Ford only balanced it well enough sustain the speed limited 105mph.

Either way, having a mini car chase on public roads at the speeds you are talking about is a stupid moronic reckless thing to do regardless of the car or truck you are in.

After reading some of your posts I may actually send a thank you letter to Ford. Its great they put the limit on the truck to prevent idiots from driving a truck 100mph plus on public roads. You are not solving problems at that speed you are putting other innocent people in danger and at that point are really no better than the supposed road ranging people you are claiming you want to escape from.
