Speed governor

i have accidentally blown through over 100 pass in on a 2 lane, not sure if it near 105, but i did see 100
my 2016 expedition would hit 120 easy as falling off a rock passing on a 2 lane

I understand that...I was asking OP what is the speed limiter in his truck. Mine seems to be 95mph! I did a few test hits in Mexico to get the 1/4 mile time and I bumped into the limiter (at 95mph) before the 1/4 stripe. I was just curious whether the speed limiter is different for every truck depending on the tires it has or why is there variation?

FYI...my tires are rated to 106mph so I am okay.

I definitely don't have a 95mph speed governor. I hit it on the way to work this morning and got to 100mph. Only difference here......I was in normal mode. Will have to restest 1/4 mile again in normal mode.

A few years back, by a mechanic, it was explained to me that the reason for the 105 speed governor is because truck tires are only rated for 105 MPH by the manufacture. Again the lawyers are involved.

But all F150's do not all come from factory with the same tires.

My 22 RCBS came from factory with T rated LT tires. Thats 118 mph.

Guess I will have to test where my limiter is set.

Doesn't matter, all f150's come with the 105 limiter, the f150 police interceptor is limited to 120mph.

Yeah my truck hits 101 and stops, but I know she has more. I'm good with that, it is a truck after all but still cool to know what it will do. Maybe I will get a tune to see what she can do on a race strip.
