Sadly I have just gotten used to the 10R80.
Last week I rented a 2025 Tahoe for a family road trip. The two main takeaways coming from my 2022 Ecoboost were that the 5.3L is ok but it needs to rev and I missed the low end torque of the 3.5.
Second is that I never felt the transmission in the...
Thats good to know, I thought the cutoff was 2023+.
I have a very early 2022 build, so we shall see what happens I guess, but good to know its covered under the ESP should I get lucky and need a rebuild.
That makes sense. There were some additional posts in the reddit thread about the denied coverage being due to the Posters original plan. Sounds like they had some aftermarket coverage but not a full Powertrain ESP.
Ford also loves to play games with wording like "all lubricated parts" or "not...
While wasting time on Reddit last night I ran into a post on /r/F150 about a F150 owner who had a Ford ESP Claim for work on the 10R80 denied. Obviously I only have one side of the story, but from what I could tell his truck was past the factory powertrain warranty, he had a CDF Drum failure and...
I don't blame you at all the 7.4 isn't a bad engine. We are in a 26ft Cobalt and 2800rpm is about 30 - 32mph trimmed up. Cant beat it. I wish we could have avoided the Cat's...I also wish we could have found one /w through hull exhaust, saw yours had it.
Our 6.2 had the Corsa selectable exhaust...
I'd eat off that Bilge - thats clean.
Love a big block in a boat. Our previous boat had a 6.2 Small Block in it, which was fine, but man the Big Block has so much more mid range torque. It's also just so much nicer driving the boat across the lake at 2800rpm vs 3800 in the small block.
The...
Truthfully I would be much more concerned about the Motorcraft Oil Filter than anything else you have mentioned in this thread.
There have been a ton of quality control issues with the Motrocraft filters as of late. Issues like the glue that holds components together coming apart and being...
I shouldn't even post this but here we go.
The dealer didnt use the "wrong" oil - they used the oil that Ford put in the truck at the factory. The same oil that meets all Ford Specifications. In fact they used the oil that Ford designed to work well in the very engine that is in your truck.
I...
Good for you. We live in a golden age for Engines, so many good options it can almost be overwhelming. I hope the V8 stays for the foreseeable future, I think Dodge learned how loyal people are to the V8 when they pulled it from the Ram lineup. However, you are right if you want one the current...
I've always heard Bedliner has the possibility of trapping moisture and actually causing more problems than it is worth. Also have to think about things like vents on diff's, fluid changes and on going maintenance.
I hate that I have surface rust on the underside of my $80k truck, but I dont...
Just takes two as far as I know. I printed some last week and truthfully havent gotten around to installing them yet...a good reminder I need to go do that.
I was able to find this one. As designed in this .stl It was about 3/8in too long on the X axis to fit in my 2022.
I scaled the X axis only 91%, leaving the other dimensions the same, and it fit well.
If you find one that fits better let me know, but this worked for what it is.
The attached...
Perfect if we can make this happen I wouldn't mind printing a few extra sets for people on here that don't have access to a printer.
We can figure something out with shipping for those who may be interested.
Cura didnt love the file either, I hate to be demanding but could you try to re-upload to thingaverse or post the .stl here?
Would love to get this printed for sure!
Thats good to know Ill keep an eye on it and plan on doing it at 60k.
It's also a bit low on coolant so going to get that topped off, I doubt enough to make a difference but still want it full.
Ford says to inspect the level at 30k. The recommended replacement interval is 150k which many on here disagree with.
I believe the towing/severe duty maintenance schedule still has replacement at 60k but I cant find that on the Ford website.
Yup - it has to be checked in that range so that the the thermal bypass valves are open. I understand they run hot, just had not seen temps over 205 unloaded for the first two summers I have had the truck.
