Did they do the 20 second test on the service drive, or did the keep the truck and do the real battery test that takes hours? The quick one is worthless to determine if these batteries are healthy or not.

It was the quick one since I was waiting for the truck for an oil change and tire rotation.

I went with an H7 on mine. If you go H8, you cannot use the same insulation sleeve and need a bigger one. In my case, I went an Optima:

There are not cheap, but I have always had good experiences with them from my younger days when I had elaborate sound systems, so I am loyal to them.

Here's a thread, with part numbers for batteries and there insulation blankets. The H8 will fit any truck except Powerboost.

This certain upgrade took 8-9 days to install for me, but I have a 2021 3.5 EB. I kept going back to the install scheduler and checking to make sure there were no black-outs scheduled. LOL.

You can always force updates if you don't plan to go anywhere. Get into the screen and hit update now. 2 minute countdown starts and get out lock it up and let the magic happen. Or you'll get a failure ding from FordPass within 5 minutes.

Be sure to reset BMS if you change the battery. I charged mine up outside of truck before swapping but I don't think that is necessary when resetting BMS truck will figure it out.

KL3Z-10A687-C shield is ordered for an H8 battery. Now to figure out which H8 battery to get.

Yes, I used the one from my OEM H6 on the H7 I bought.

Second update when through with the update now option yesterday afternoon. Did some driving around and remote starts during the short drives to charge up the battery.

Sure, but please remove the VIN from public.

It is failing consistently due to poor battery stats. SoC and capacity are very low. I would fully change the battery, reset the BMS and then try to install it right after the BMS reset.

I don't think it is necessary. I know I didn't change the one in my truck when I upgraded to an H7 some months ago.
