I had the mobile service come to my house to take care of it. For me, it took about 45 minutes. Tech said it was quite a large software update.
My same experience. Was super nice though. I called at 930am, had the tech at my house by 11 am.

Gotta love it! The tech came over today (same guy that handled my previous two recalls) and had the IPC recall done in 20 minutes. I thanked him and bought him lunch.

I'm still trying to find a Ford dealership in my area (northern NJ) that will do these software updates (recalls) with a mobile service. My experience so far:
Route 23 Auto mall (where I bought the truck, paid in full and purchased the extended warrantee) offers mobile repair service but only for certain things and these factory recalls isn't one of them.

Wayne Ford has an online feature to request a mobile service repair but my request for this software update received no response.

All American Ford of Paramus also ignored an online request for this service.

I will keep trying different dealerships in my area and post my results here.
I am aware that the dealerships are independently owned franchises and can elect not to offer factory recalls as part of their mobile repair service.
Nonetheless, I will share my search results with Ford Motor Company.

Just a heads up, I had a mobile tech come out yesterday to do my brake boost and cluster updates. Brake boost went fine but after 4 attempts the cluster wouldn't take. He had a laptop with FDRS but the cluster update was from a thumb drive using the front USB port below the AC controls. He said I have to go in for the cluster update and this is very common issue on the f-150s. Just passing along.

EDIT:
Went to the dealership to apply the cluster patch and take photos for my axle recall. I saw in the notes that the tech applied a battery charger while doing the update. This is most likely why the update didn't work through the mobile service. Both were applied through the USB, the mobile and the dealership.

Well that’s a bummer. Luckily my IPC update worked on Tuesday at my house.

Add Mahwah Ford to the list not offering recall fixes with their mobile service.

Edmond Ford in Oklahoma does mobile fixes. They did my brake fix and a week later this pops up. Come on Ford, let’s be more efficient in your recalls 🤣

To add insult to injury, I get this email from Ford about how easy it is to have the factory recalls addressed by a "convenient" remote service option.
I've reached out to FIVE Ford dealerships in northern New Jersey so far and NONE of them offers this service with their remote service. Oil changes, tire rotations, filters, even some other minor repairs but none of them will do these software updates.
It seems it's up to the dealership as to whether they will participate or not and apparently the Ford dealerships in my area will not.
I couldn't even get an estimate on how long it would take. They all want me to drop off the truck and leave it there. When I asked if I could wait while they did the work, the answer was: "We don't know how long it will take. Could be half a day."
Unacceptable!
I just took a customer survey from Ford. Ha!
I'm emailing Ford customer service and I'm goin to share my experience with the company.
(Not that they give a shit).

Called the dealership in my small town today to schedule a time to take mine in for the update and was offered a home visit for this tomorrow morning. I was a bit surprised that a small dealership in a small Mississippi town would have this available. Unfortunately, I need to take it in for them to look at a fender liner issue that is covered under warranty so I will have the update done there.

Plan for yesterday fell through, dealership had all their computers in use and since it would be a couple of hours until they got to my F150 they offered the mobile service for today. No big deal since I work at home anyway, so I opted for that. Tech arrived at 1100, started work a few minutes later and was on his way back to the dealership at 1130. I doubt I would use this service for oil changes and brakes but for something as simple as this I certainly would.

Hey folks, saw the discussion on this IPC software recall (25S88 / 25V-540) popping up right after that brake boost fix—Ford's been rolling these out for 2025-2026 F-150s and Super Duty trucks built between June 2024 and July 2025, where the cluster can go blank on startup due to a memory protection fault during the sleep sequence. Dealers or Ford mobile service can push the free OTA or wired update to disable that faulty feature, and notifications started going out early September—no out-of-pocket costs since it's under warranty.
Quick Fix Tips
  • Check your VIN on Ford's recall site or NHTSA.gov to confirm if affected—over 355k trucks in the US alone.
  • Some owners report FDRS or FORScan for DIY module tweaks, but stick to official service to avoid bricking the cluster like that failed IPC thread.
  • If hauling heavy loads like custom aluminum extrusions for truck beds or frames, a blank gauge cluster mid-tow could be risky—get it sorted ASAP for safety.
No crashes reported yet, but 95 warranty claims logged since January, so better safe than staring at a black screen on the highway. Anyone else get the update done via mobile service?

It seems the Ford Motor Company is not aware of the number of dealerships that DO NOT offer these updates as part of their "mobile service". Like I've stated previously, there are NO dealerships in northern NJ that will do these recalls with a mobile service. (I have reached out to 6 of them.)
Fortunately, I'm not having any issues with the instrument cluster, display screen or the brakes. I have reached out to Ford Customer service to advise them of this and I got no response.
I love my new truck, but this business is really pissing me off.
