Apparently Krud Kutter rust remover is not available in the states, but the Rust-Oleum branded version is. Or at least would be if it wasn't out of stock everywhere.

FYI - As of 09/19, Amazon has the Rust-Oleum branded version in stock (both the spray and gel).

What product will you be using for paint? I've been wondering about something that can be brushed on to avoid overspray on everything. Would something like Por15 be a good option?

Funny you should ask, I bought 2 cans of Rustoleum then just yesterday when I was about to paint I realized how much of a mess that would make and how much masking would have to be done to eliminate the mess so I opted for a can of paint to brush on. I looked into the POR15 to brush on but they require a top coat which is ONLY in spray can! I opted to try semi gloss black Tremclad, it went on nice , one coat was probably equivalent to at least 3 coats spray. The brush worked well as you could push it into all the nooks and crannies, lol. I let it cure for 24hrs now heading back out to give it one more coat. Time will tell if this paint holds up to the elements

Got some good advise on here so it is nice to finally give a little something back, hopefully it is useful

I guess that I’m finally at the age that I’m not going to get down on the ground and look at the rust or actually anything else under my truck.
Now a days I just hope that everything’s ok under there. Lol

I plan on keeping this truck for many, many years and with all the salt they use on the roads in my region I am going to do the best I can to make this truck last . lol! It will probably be the last truck I ever own.
