As others have said, only buy Ford ESP. With the deals you can get online (Flood Ford, Grainer Ford, etc.) why risk a third party warranty. At least with the Ford ESP, you know what you are getting and what to expect (good and bad).

You can do what I did... Instead of buying a $40 drain plug, you can buy a $4,000 car lift for your garage... (Kidding - Sort of) :). Makes oil changes really easy. Glad things worked out for you...

For me, it is piece of mind. I would get it as soon as possible. As someone mentioned above, with all the electronics these new vehicles have, $2,000 or $3,000 (depending on options) is worth it (at least to me).

In my opinion, Dealerships are hit or miss. I have had some great experiences at dealerships and some terrible experiences. Fortunately, I live in an area where there are several Ford dealerships within a 15-20 mile radius.

Both my 2023 Tremor and 2024 XLT require 7.75 quarts (for a V8) per the owners manual. When I change the oil, I put in 7 quarts and a new filter. After running the engine, I let it sit for 15-20 minutes and check the level. It usually shows within range at the top of the dipstick.

My last three vehicles I used Flood Ford for my ESP without any issues.

Personally, three years on a Motorcraft battery has been about average for me. I had a 2020 Explorer ST and a 2017 Explorer Sport and both vehicles needed the battery replaced at about three years. Just my experience.
