Can you say "Kick Backs".....Mine all but refuses to sell Ford ESP plans. They prefer to sell plans from a company called Apex protection which is a complete rip-off.

Yep. One of the best things I learned in high school was from my math teacher advising us to never pay for a warranty. I put the $ equal to .25% of the warranty into a money market and self warranty. The money is eventually moved to something with some more risk long term and rarely used to pay for a repair. Cars, electronics, homes, appliances. Anything I am offered an extended warranty onI'd rather put that money in an index fund and take it out if you ever have a costly repair.
I gave my dealer the option to price match, they looked at Granger’s website when I told them, they wouldn’t do it either. I politely told my sales lady ok, I tried.yep my dealer flat out told me they will not beat or match Granger's ESP plan pricing.
Is that warranty a “Granger” or manufacturers warranty?I think there are two different sites out there that you can buy the warranty through from them, Pretty sure one comes out to be more than the other. I got a 5 year 75K Premium care ESP with LED coverage through https://grangerwarranty.com/ and even with financing and fees it was about 1.2K less than going directly to Ford.
So, by making this post you obviously have found someone with a better deal. Why not just buy there and share the info with us so we all know where to go for ours?currently shopping for an extended warranty for my PowerBoost, and many people have recommended Granger. However, I've noticed that they charge a 10% administrative fee.
While Ford advertises interest-free financing on their Extended Service Plan (ESP), and Granger seems to as well, this hidden fee effectively increases the total cost. For an ESP priced at $3,245.00, Granger adds a $324.50 fee, bringing the total to $3,569.50. because this admin isn't included when you pay in full this effectively is a 10% interest rate you are paying completely upfront
This practice is misleading and frustrating. I know Granger reads this forum. You guys suck
Edit: To be clear, I'm not complaining about the price of the product. I'm complaining about how Ford offers interest-free financing, but Granger takes it away from you by charging a 10% fee for using the financing.
I used to ascribe to this approach, until I watched the proliferation of electronics in vehicles, the inclusion of technology designed to meet cafe standards but decrease reliability (Chevy Active Fuel Management lifter failures and maybe Ford Active Cylinder Deactivation - not sure if there are document longevity issues on Ford - Chevy is a fact) and the disproportionately increasing cost of repairs. That modified the equation enough in favor of buying the warranty on cars (oh and refrigerators - they are crap these days). I also had an $8k engine rebuild on my wife’s 2019 6.2L Suburban with 60k miles on it last year. While I’m not positing the theory the invest the money strategy is wrong, it’s less convincing now.Yep. It's the Ford Premium Care ESP.Is that warranty a “Granger” or manufacturers warranty?
Excellent…thanksIt's the Ford Premium Care ESP.
No, I haven't.So, by making this post you obviously have found someone with a better deal. Why not just buy there and share the info with us so we all know where to go for ours?
Because you called them out so I just knew you had found a better deal. Please keep us informed and let us know how much cheaper you find it than Granger, I am sure many will appreciate the info. Not sure what leads you to think it was obvious.
No, I haven't.
Not sure what leads you to think it was obvious. I made this post because it's very stealership of Granger to offer free financing but then hit you with a 10% admin fee for using the financing, that's all. I will probably go with either Ziegler or Flood.
Exactly, you would need to be investing like a politician to make it work, IF it could but it cant!Could do that but one major issue like say the transmission or OEM LED headlight fails on you would easily wipe most if not all of it out in one event. With the ESP and options that would be most likely be covered along with day one rental and only be out the deductible if you have one, and still have coverage afterwards.
