Who were you asking?

Edit: nevermind. Answered before I hit submit

Anyone who will answer :)

I have never received the recall, so I'm hoping I'm good.

I once tried to remove the center cap, but didn't have any luck (didn't try too hard) and didn't want to scratch up my wheels trying.

Have you logged in with your VIN at Ford.com? I think that would be pretty telling if you were to be notified.

I called NHSTA and log a complaint with them since waiting another year for a remedy, if there will be one at all, is not acceptable. There is a phone number on the NHSTA website under this recall you call call to o register a complaint.
This is really beginning to piss me off. I've had a second axle bolt failure, this time on the other side. Apparently there is a group of engineers and analysts somewhere in the engineering staff at FORD that has no idea of Fracture Critical Parts, Single Point Failures and redundancy of fracture critical parts. If a single bolt fails and renders my vehicle as unsafe to drive, then there should be redundant fasteners. FORD you need to conduct a Failure review board and determine the root cause of the bolts shearing and issue a recall and have the affected parts replaced. I'm not sure how the design of the axels on the Explores are designed but I have read that those axle bolts fail as well. As soon as I finish this post I will be writing to NHTSA to submit a compliant.
i just called NHTSA and submitted a complaint for this recall.
There is a number in the recall to use if you feel the manufacturer has not remedied the recall in a timely matter. Couple of years is long enough.

Eh Just a bolt to me at this point. Fix is usually a day or two around me. Transmission however has had it at the shop for 6 weeks now. Mine eats transmissions quicker than those bolts. So at least be happy it's a small headache.

I filed a complaint as well. But I think there’s a better chance of the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup.

Just a little PSA - had both my failure prone Max Tow axles replaced (again, for a second time in February) with the "final fix" in early June. By 3 weeks ago i was hearing a squealing from my right rear axle. The bearing on the "New" design was toast. Now I'm in a loaner under warranty (again) waiting for a new part to be made available because the parts are being soaked up with the recall. I think i had maybe 3,000 miles on the new axles before the bearings went out.
