If a box cutter, flex tape, and a zip tie work for the intake and the axle wiring issues, I'm guessing the official fix for this is going to be just as ghetto versus a whole new design. Maybe the solution is to stuff some chewing gum or blue Loctite in the hole first.

FWIW, I took the truck into dealer today for what i thought would be another interim fix. But it turns out that the perm fix is apparently available.

The Rep said that is just arrived and they haven’t advertised it for rollout but are able to apply the fix to those of us with current failures. Will let you all know more when i get the truck back tomorrow.
I'm skeptical but happy to be proven wrong.

Looking forward to you posting a pic of the completed work order with description of work and list of PN's installed.

I really hope that what was said is true. But it sounds so fishy. And sadly it is so common for service people to say the craziest things that they invent in their head.

On Feb 9 they replaced both axle and hub assembly’s on mine. I still have the recall notice on Ford.com. The service advisor said he’d see me when the bolt breaks again.

Yes, yours is the 'expected current' interim remedy, nothing new in that.

My request for posting the completed WO is for @lilburnedbear who has been told (FWIW, and he seems to be 'guarded' about what he was told, too) to expect something new.

Yepper to all of that. (y)

Don’t forget click heals together 4 times then spin to the left 3 rotations while rubbing stomach and patting your head.

So the truck is back. Turnaround time at about 36 hours to fix was night and day from 18 months ago when the problem seem alien to the Service Reps. The Rep says it’s the final fix but I don’t see what has changed. Like Ford guy posted the part numbers in the invoice are the same as those noted in the interim fix for 23S65 and the bolts under the hubcaps seem the same as well. See pics.

Not super enthused, but at least thankful for the speed fixed and that they comped my rental. Time will tell.

Thanks for the follow-up (y)

Methinks that the dealer rep's claim of a "final fix" is misinformed  , but I'm happy you got another interim-fix timely with minimal hassles!

I'm sure you'll let us know here if the recall for your VIN is miraculously 'cleared' on the NHTSA website  ?

The wait continues .... ?

It's been a little while, but I got new axle/hub assemblies and the VIN still shows the recall as of yesterday

Yeah. Will do. As of this morning my recall notice still shows incomplete like probably everybody’s.

Is it safe to assume if you didn't get recall notice, that you don't have the max tow axle?
Who were you asking?

Edit: nevermind. Answered before I hit submit
