It was for me. I just read the common denominator responses here. But what was strange to me was that my shifter always felt sloppy, like had a lot of play in it. The new one is super tight. So when in park or drive, it does not move forward or backward at all.Interesting. Is this the easy tell? By that, I wonder if the combo of shifter not folding and service soon light always points to those codes.
I just got this error, and my 2024 has 200 miles on it, took to dealer they said bad battery so they replaced with a new one. The very next day happened again, and now my shifter won’t lay downHi! If you send us a message with your VIN and local Ford dealer, I can see how I can assist.
Thanks for the response! ?It was for me. I just read the common denominator responses here. But what was strange to me was that my shifter always felt sloppy, like had a lot of play in it. The new one is super tight. So when in park or drive, it does not move forward or backward at all.
I think checking to see if the shifter does not fold down after the Powertrain Malfunction appears for verification is inviting the malfunction to get worse. I've had this alert come and go more than two dozen times. Based on what everyone has been sharing, I'm not about to touch the fold-down button.Interesting. Is this the easy tell? By that, I wonder if the combo of shifter not folding and service soon light always points to those codes.
yikes…just got mine into the dealer Monday for the infamous “Powertrain malfunction/reduce power …get service soon” alert. They had it for two days and confirmed it’s the shit module according to Ford Service Bulletin and soon to be issued recall notice. Of course the part is on b/o with no ETA available. The service consultant called me and said come pick it up as it no problem to drive it with the malfunction alert. However, based what others stated it concerns me that Ford isn’t completely transparent about potential unintended consequences of a “software” program bug or wiring problems. I located a copy of the Service Bulletin and it indicated that there is a potential plug-pin losing connection due to a manufacturing defect in either the plug or the shift module receptacle. Case in point our Lincoln Nautilus Black Label received an over the air (WiFi) software update that resulted in a recall as the software up date caused a safety issue with the back up and other cameras in the collision avoidance system. Again, YIKES!!!… YGTBKM…I hope their General Counsel is paying attention and advising Ford’s leadership about what happened to Boeing over bad software on their 737 Max!!! The 21st century vehicle is now so full of software code it’s impossible to avoid going to the dealer for service.I just got this error, and my 2024 has 200 miles on it, took to dealer they said bad battery so they replaced with a new one. Thank you for sharing this TSB. I recently fell victim to a faulty GSM and it left stranded on the road. Luckily, I was able to get it towed safely to the dealer. Just waiting on parts at this point. Thanks again for sharing this with the forum.
Any update sir?My 24 raptor R with 1950 miles is experiencing the same issue where it throws a code but fixes itself after sitting for some time. Every time it throws the code the gear selector won’t lay flat. I Took it to the dealer when it was showing a code just for them to tell me it was too late for them to check the issue and to comeback Monday.
It was the gsm. The service advisor said they have been seeing a bunch more come in for that issue. Part is on back order and has an average lead time of 1-3 weeks.Any update sir?
