Powertrain Malfunction on 2024 f150 5.0

Bought a truck 2 weeks ago with only 23k miles on it and just got the wrench logo on my dash this weekend. Not even 1 month of owning it hopefully nothing major. Truck feels normal. Everyone seems to say it's a module Replacement. Heading to the dealer this week.

My 2024 PB got the same at 5k.
The culprit was the Gear Shift Module (GSM)…a know issue causing numerous/faulty transmission codes. Had my GSM replaced and seems to have solved the issue. I’m Now at 10k with no further issue. (Additional Problem was that the GSM was in high demand and took them 6 weeks to get the part…had a loaner the entire time). Good luck

With only 107 miles (100 miles was delivered from the dealer to my home ) my 2024 5.0 I got a wrench symbol/MX required on the first day of ownership...then the truck would not go into gear and was stuck in "D". My first indication of something wrong was the gear shifter would not stow in the console. I had to have the truck towed the Ford dealership for repair. It was the Gear Shift Module (GSM). Took about 2 hours to replace and another couple of hours to reload software. I had a similar post concerning the issue in March 2025. Bet you're experiencing something similar. There was a Trouble Service Bulletin issued for the GSM.
