Nope. Not a fan.

And as I've said on a few other forums..., just wait, in-dash ads are sure to be coming. And then we'll get the Amazon Kindle "no ads" option where we will have to pay Ford to turn off the ads.

And then, my next prediction is Ford trying to convince us that subscriptions are great (like some foreign manufacturers are already imposing).

They should "reveal" the ability to control zone lighting from the app again like they did in 2020.

No thanks.

Because of no physical buttons, I'm looking at used vehicles for the first time in my life.

And I get company plan pricing.

Unbelievable how they call "reducing part complexity" a boost to quality when literally no one EVER had their AC buttons fail.

The 10r80 -> now that is a piece of complex junk unless you want to get a properly built one by the aftermarket for $8k+.

They've lost their minds. I don't want to play video games in my Expedition.. do they think I'm stupid??

Amen!

I really don't like the new system, I have a 2025 Explorer with it and it acts like a big Android phone/Android auto. I much prefer the Sync 4 in my truck. I don't need to watch youtube in my car.
I'm interested in music and video clips that keep my passengers busy!

I ordered a King Ranch Max it arrived back 4 months ago, I got in it drove about 5 miles turned around and went back to the dealership mad, you got to go through a bunch of menu's to set you cruise, I almost rear ended a car, King Ranch, no massageing seats at that price?, I was pissed. I got a King Ranch F-150 Hybrid instead, glad I did. If Ford puts that stupid oval steering wheel in the trucks and that stupid high tech crap the Lincoln's and the Expy has, I'm done. I'm far to old to be dealing with goofy technology in a dam vehicle.

Wow that is a funky wheel they put on that thing, looks like a go cart steering wheel. I was confused by you needing to use a menu for cruise since they had it on the wheel the previous year. they can keep that one LOL.

To be totally honest with you my first Ford was a 1991 F-150 XLT Lariat, I bought it off my next door neighbour's, it was a dam nice truck in those days, it was comfortable had a 351 W in it. It was a great truck. Today trucks are ultra comfortable, loaded in technology and it's because of how the brain works, we as humans naturally want to take the path of least resistance, example, no more clumsy paper maps, get nav, handsfee phones, get Bluetooth, heck, the pinnacle of laziness is blue cruise, I don't need to even touch the steering wheel, that's all fine and dandy but the problems follow. I'm guilty for falling for the tech as well, I see value in some things like the split tailgate on the F-150, I absolutely love it, the centre step (and no wires and modules to it) I love the centre step, but the one thing Ford does to piss me off is put a thin go cart steering wheel in a vehicle and make it a process to set the cruise, I just can't get over that.

For sure man, That steering wheel needs the physical buttons back.

This is the Ford-skinned Android Automotive they've been talking about for quite literally years now. Behind the curtain it's the same system GM uses in everything. Personally not a fan of it after having a Silverado for a time.

Next some Fords will come with all the hardware installed and needed for the available options but you wont be able to use any of those features unless you pay a monthly subscription fee kind of like blue cruise. 😗

I like the improvement in technology in my 2024 XL over my 2014. I like that it reads text messages to me and I can tell it what to write back. I noticed that the AC works better in my 2014 compared to my 2024.

I like big and useful infotainment screens as I enjoy using technology but I also like knobs and buttons for non-entertainment things that I'd like instant access to like HVAC and basic car features like lighting and cruise control.

What are the commands to say when you hit the speak button and the screen says "ask a question"? Every time I try to ask a question it says "Sorry, I don't understand".
"connect yourself directly to the HV battery and let Siri take over, you. [censored]"

Anyway, for all the fuss about buttons, the temperature and other controls on my wife's new Maverick are well within the field of view your eyes take in as you glance at the rear view & passenger windows every few seconds; I don't have to look to tap.

If they did that I have 2 capable arms, I have been steering a vehicle for 34 years now, once bluecruise runs out I won't be parting with a dime. Now lets say they did something stupid like make heated seats on a payment plan, no problem, I would just get aftermarket ones, doing stupid shit like making people pay for options will just make the aftermarket business lucrative,

I’d settle for them making the existing infotainment systems work better. Or less recalls. Or a sunroof that doesnt explode. 🤷‍♂️
