They did eventually change them to definite position dials. The one in the MME can just spin and spin. Does the explorers let you free spin past drive?
My wife's 22 Explorer dial has definitive position, so I would assume the 25 would as well.

How do you like the new Android Automotive infotainment compared to Sync4?

With the vehicle off, the gear shifter doesn't move at all but the drive mode spins free. Assuming the same when running.
Yeah, that's the one I hate. Just a hall effect sensor like our ATCM dials. Just spin spin spin. It can get stuck (not really stuck) on a half notch and when going from D to R, instead of reading 2 clicks, it can read 3 even though it's 2.5. In the EV I just throw direction changes while still moving (basically how regen works, it's a reverse that never changes directions) and the parking pawl deciding to engage is an unwanted surprise.

Haven't spent enough time with it really. Just drove it an hour home yesterday and kept it on android auto the whole time.

Took it for a short drive last night and yes, the gear selector stops at both P and D and won't go beyond in either direction. I really like it compared to the shifter in my PB.

Messed with it a little last night. It is very similar to Android Auto in look and feel. Once you get into the vehicle settings, the menu looks like Ford Sync in the F150. It is really cool seeing google maps in the full instrument cluster. I need more seat time with it.

I need to research if/how the fake engine noise can be reduced or turned off and compare that to what it is currently as it seems a little too much. Wish it was in vehicle settings like speed compensated volume and other prefs.
