The post over there where someone says " Lastly, you do also understand how disingenuous it is to acknowledge that you “dropped the ball”, but appear to be perfectly ok with the customer doing literally all of the heavy lifting to just put lipstick back on this pig…..Right?" seems to be a PERFECT summarization of what's happening with Granger and your truck.

Just got caught up and read the posts on the other site as well…..wow. As @v8440 referenced above, @Granger Ford admitted their mistake yet won’t communicate with @BarryT82. This makes no sense at all and the longer it goes on the more it pisses me off. @BarryT82 , we are here for you.

I haven’t heard from anyone in a week. The last email that I got was an acknowledgment that they received the estimate that I emailed for the ridiculous amount of paint work that the truck needs.

I purchased a new 2024 F-150 King Ranch on 9/16 that I special ordered in April from @Granger Ford in IA. I had the vehicle shipped to my house in WV and shortly after getting it I discovered numerous paint defects from the factory. The top of the cab has dirt/bubbles in the sealant along the channels causing the paint to peel, there are areas that weren’t painted on the top along the channels, the fuel door has paint issues, the tailgate has transparent spots in the paint in numerous spots, the back of the bed between the cab wasn’t painted, there’s a blob of something that was painted over on the wheel well, the passenger side front seat leather is peeling, and the frame for the seat cushion on the same seat is bent. When it was delivered I found a screw on the passenger side rear wheel well rock guard barely threaded into the speed nut. I took it to a dealership to get the seat checked out and when comparing my truck to new trucks on the lot I’m seeing that their trucks are painted in the areas that mine isn’t. I’ve contacted Ford and the selling dealership. They want me to go to local dealerships to get estimates for warranty claims. I’ve been to three dealerships and two independent shops to get estimates or trying to file warranty claims. The local Ford body shops can’t get to the paint work until January-February of next year due to a backlog of recall work on Ford Escape’s. One dealership told me that they wouldn’t do warranty work on my truck because I didn’t purchase it from them. This purchase has been a nightmare and I regret ever ordering it. If you order a truck inspect it in person and don’t complete the paperwork until you’ve done so. Granger hasn’t done anything to help me out with these issues. I’ve emailed, called, and left messages for Zach, but he won’t respond.

I am sorry you had to go through this. I hope someone (Grainger or FoMoCo0) will take the bullet and take care of you (replacing the truck).

Quick question (I didn't read all 20 pages, so maybe it was already asked and answered) - I am curious where was the truck built, KS or Detroit?

Besides the fact that your dealership is across the country, I just don't understand the math of this whole buying a truck in Iowa. Ya, you save 4% on a $80,000 truck, but how much of that $3,200 is put into plane tickets, transport trucks, gas to drive back home, future trips to Iowa?

I don't know anything about Granger. May be a great place, may not be. I just don't get it. It's not that good of a deal.
I haven't gone any further to see if anyone else has addressed @Larrymore. For the truck I ordered from @granger, I saved over $10K from MSRP and much more from the ripoff dealerships around me. Everyone I tried to deal with wanted MSRP Plus. That "Plus" was as high as $5K above MSRP. I calculated the cost to fly out and drive 1,200 mile would be around $800. So to save over $10K is a great ROI.

But, if a situation such as what is going with the OP occurs, I bet he'd be willing to have spent quite a few $$ to have avoided it.

To each their own.

I've followed this thread with a LOT of interest..Up until this one 1 customer I have not heard anything bad about Granger or the process or the paperwork actually doing the deal.. Online or at the dealership. The price and dealer fees is basically the lowest you can buy a new truck period. When I told my brother about this (because he wants a new truck) he said " It was probably Friday, one guy was sick or not there ,it was late and/or he wanted to go home and or it was raining." I figure it was a chain of events that led to a subpar truck being shipped out.
I do think when a issue has been raised both Ford and Granger has rules it must follow. None of them make it fast or easy..to fix it. In other words I don't think Granger could say" We will send a guy to pick it up and send your money back."..It looks like comunation broke down and caused hard feelings...
So Granger was battling 1000. Now 999… That's way way better than ANY other dealer I know of..In fact it's the best I've heard.

Granger didn’t inspect the truck like they should have and Ford didn’t either. Ford told me that Granger can request a replacement. They could be doing the same thing that the dealership in Michigan is doing for Dustin, but they aren’t.
You can find them on the lots for the same price that I ordered it for right now. Look on CarGurus and you’ll find a lot of discounted 2024’s.

That isn’t the issue; of course they are going to make a mistake like this every once in a while. It’s their response to the egregious oversight on their part that’s the problem. There’s lots of folks right now waiting to see if Granger wants to communicate that it’s ok for this to happen- or if they will utilize their resources to correct it to the customer’s satisfaction.

It’s not ideal that this happened, and it’s not even the end of the world if they didn’t do the right thing immediately after, either…. But time is running out for them to decide to fix this- even after several weeks to review the mistake (that they have already acknowledged).

THAT is important for me to know before I’d order from them again.

I was surprised at the negativity of many posters..and the fact so many piled on. I mean this was the FIRST time a Granger customer said he was not happy about anything. So very many dealerships routinely get slammed and for good reason. Let's just not even consider pricing. It's just a plain fact it's almost impossible to buy out the door as low a price new truck as Granger has sold many of us here. Don't forget they are as transparent as you can get on fees. Many dealerships SAY a low price but add all kinds of 'fees' so the amount financed is way more..
And even if it was not purchased at Granger the emailed quote they sent many of us here has saved members of the forum many thousands of dollars. I just don't understand all the hate. A bad truck was put on the transport..Yes it was. Communication was poor.. probably. But compared to ANY OTHER dealership in the US Granger has exceeded expectations..

Maybe so, but I’ve been dealing with this for a month and haven’t gotten anywhere. I’ve lost money driving around to dealerships and body shops, burning vacation days to go sit at a dealership and body shops, and dealt with all of the BS. Like I said in my other post, if they would have communicated with me and tried to resolve the issues I never would have made the posts. They didn’t want to take any responsibility, tried to blame the transport company that brought it to me, and they’ve ignored me. They want me to file warranty claims in hopes that Ford will repair it. The body shop estimate states that they need it for 30 days to fix the paint issues. Ford told me that I’d have to pay for a rental car out of pocket and submit to get reimbursed after the truck is fixed. I’ve asked for the truck to be replaced or bought back and they’ve ignored the question every time. They could easily trade it and make Ford fix it. Then I wouldn’t be dealing with all of this BS.

This is very clearly not an "oopsie", this is blatant negligence not only of granger, but ford as well. It's not like they forgot to include a spare .... they forgot to properly and adequately paint the truck, identify the issue, AND BOTH PARTIES STILL SHIPPED THIS SHIT.

AND YES, this is where reputations are made or destroyed. Who are you when it counts and so far the answer is pure chickenshit cowardice.
