Thanks for all the feedback. I called two local line x and neither seemed great. Our bullet liner dealer in denver has horrible reviews. The mil spec liner dealer has exceptional reviews. I’m leaning toward the mil spec even though I can find limited feedback on the actual product.

Here's my old 2006 Tundra with Line-X. I got rid of the truck last year....pic was taken just before getting rid of her....17 years old and about 220,000 miles. The truck was parked outside for half it's life. Not much fading to me. The rust underneath was causing bubbles in the Line X, but they never cracked or "popped". I hauled lots and lots of stuff in this bed over the years, and never babied it. I absolutely love the product. I have no experience with Line X Premium.

The truck before this one had Rhino and I didn't care for it. Rhino is more smooth...and looked like black cottage cheese. While it potentially gripped stuff better, it was softer and could be cut a lot easier. But I think it was also slippery when wet. The Line X is more abrasive/scratchy and while times my slip a bit easier, walking in the bed...wet or dry seemed less slippery. I tie stuff down, so never worried about it.

For my latest truck, I just went with the factory spay in from Ford.

retired!
I had standard Line-X installed in my 2022 when new because the same installed in my 2005 when new has served me very, very well.

Yep, in 19 years of full-time exposure to Texas sun it's faded a bit to uniform grey, more-or-less matching the fade of the OE plastic bed-rail caps over time. But in terms of protection, it's still in as-installed condition with no chips, peeling, or scratches after two decades of hard work on my rural acreage hauling everything from mesquite brush and oak logs to barbed-wire, appliances slid-across the bed, rock, gravel, construction materials, etc, etc.

Note that the 'structural / integrity' lifetime warranty is the same for standard and premium. The premium aesthetic warranty is shorter. I am lucky to have a reputable long-time Line-X installer in Austin, they did an excellent job on my 2022.

YMMV, no worries!

I put Line-X Premium on my truck 8 years ago and it looks pretty much brand new still.

Just a thought to throw out there that RHINO liner has been amazing to me . This is my 3rd truck with Rhino liner and zero issues or concerns.

"Mil-Spec" is a real thing and is the United States defense standard, often called a military standard, "MIL-STD", "MIL-SPEC", or "MilSpecs", is used to help achieve standardization objectives by the U.S. Department of Defense.
When you hear "military grade", that is marketing BS and not worth anything.
Yup..."standard" or "spec" does not mean best or most precise.

I went with the Line-X Premium. Had it on my 2013 XLT and it worked like a champ. With the 2023 Lariat, went with the same thing, and also got the Line-X version of the BakFlip with Line-X on the exterior. Still happy with both on the '23.

I have he premium and never had any issues. My broter got the standard and it faded to a flat finish in about 2 years.

I have had a Line-X Premium on my past two F150s and I have a cover. I like the feel of it better than the standard Line-X.

Do they remove everything to install the liner and reinstall all the parts and pieces in the bed? Look at my pictures.

I also agree, it's the preparation and installer that makes the liner good or not so good. My Line-X dealer installer has been doing it for 19 years. His sanding and taping are perfect which is why the finished product looks and functions as advertised.

After about 16 years in the military anything that uses "Milspec" or military grade in the advertising is almost a red flag for me lol

i had the standard on every truck, it fades a bit but honestly by the time it does you'll have gotten over that new truck love and really just care about the function, that it'll do just as good as day one.

my 17 F150 had the regular Line-X and I ended up going with the Premium for my 20 F150
Noticeable diffference between the two. the Premium was slicker/shinier looking and as someone else mentioned, a deeper black. Seemed easier to clean as well.

I'll admit, i got the Premium simply b/c Line-X was running a special and it was $100 more than the standard. I felt like it was so close what $600 when I was intending to spend $500 haha

Don’t disagree at all. In this case I’m going with them because they seemed the best on the phone and their reviews are better than my local line x and bullet shops. Time will tell. My guess is most of the products are pretty comparable and you’re buying the installer.

Premium plus color matched held up great for 12 years in my last truck under bed cover. I have seen plenty without premium that look very faded so it was worth it to me. If you are heavy user on the bed it won't matter it will look beat up quickly.

So I’ve noticed the liner smells pretty bad. Initially, I thought someone who smoked had been in my truck and left a really bad stench but turns out it is the liner. Is this normal for all of these products? I guess it eventually goes away?
