Oh no! ?
I placed an order for a 2025 powerboost a couple weeks ago, and now I am stumbling over this thread here ...
Did I order the least reliable truck on the market?
My 2022 PB had over 6 warranty services, but I loved it. I traded it in for a 2024 PB a couple weeks ago, but maybe I'm just a sucker for punishment.

LOL, you definitely didn't have enough of it! :)

Why did you trade after 2 years? Was it because of the issues, hoping the '24 would be better?
Or different features / trim? Anything else? Just wondering ....

It was 3 years, actually. Took delivery in Jan 2022. Multiple factors for giving it up. I was going to cross 60K miles and go out of the powertrain warranty this year. I didn't want to keep it out of warranty with the issues it's had, so it was a choice of either trade it in or buy an extended warranty. Plus, I need to cash out some of my equity to buy my son his first car later this year.

I didn't think I'd get enough in trade in to buy another PowerBoost, but it was worth more than I thought. Got a great deal on a service loaner for the "new" one. It had only 550 miles.

Late in the game on this, but my $.02 - no, you did not. The Powerboost was a revolutionary engine back in 2021. Being new there were growing pains. Pains compounded heavily by the chip shortages caused by Covid. As such, I feel the break in period for the PB lasted waaay longer than it should have. However, By 2023-2024, I think the PB moved into a good place in the production and in the quality. I know from this forum that the 2024s seem to have less concerns than past years. I am at 25k miles on my 2024. No issues whatsoever.

the chip shortages caused by Covid.
that shortage wasn't caused by covid.

It was entirely because auto manufacturers cancelled their orders, and the production spots were picked up by other industries, which prevented them from being able to schedule production when they found that the sky hadn't fallen!

Classic case of lower shotgun, shoot foot, reload, repeat . . .

If I were to do it again, I’d definitely get the power boost. That inverter power has so much utility, probably the best use case truck out there, imo. But I digress

The sonar / APA assist deletes were due to missing lin bus chips inside of the IPMA. There are several lin bus chips throughout the truck and it's very odd they just started to delete that specific lin bus chip (though still containing other lin bus chips) --- the strangest part about it is that it was still wired for the APA sensors while also still containing them. It was just missing a 50 cent chip due to supply constraints of that chip. Each chip controls 4 sonars

I think the PB is just plain cool. Sitting in the parking lot, stopped in traffic, etc with the AC blasting away while on battery power. Moving the truck in and out of the garage on weekends without having to fire up the ICE. I drive mostly highway and interstate so I not get to use all of the advantages, but again, just cool. A replaced BISG is the only PB related issue that I have had. I am still planning on another PB or its equivalent when it is time.

Winter fuel economy does seem to suck.
I haven't noticed that, and I live in the northern Adirondack Mountains where days are routinely very cold. consistently 20-22 mpg. But I just got it in November, so I will see what warmer temperatures bring to the table. I have noticed that I get better economy in "city" driving than highway driving. We don't have cities but local driving, where the electric drive train seems to dominate.

I don’t care for it because of the expense, added weight, winter issues, the damn back up beeper and I would probably never use it as a power source.
That’s just me, don’t hate’em just have no desire for one.

I think the biggest factor is if you need max payload. Other than that only time will tell if the technology can hold up. With that being said the technology in my 24' 5.0 302A makes me nervous with the experience I have already had. As time goes on I am definitely more intrigued. My coworker said he can keep his in electric mode a lot with his driving style. Didn't know it could be in electric mode at 70 mph.
