While my '21 XLT PB was at the shop for over a week around Thanksgiving, they gave me a loaner. It was '23 Lariat with the V8 and only 70 miles. The mileage averaged 16.2 for the week and the seams on the seat cushions dug into both my and my wife's legs when not wearing jeans. The power running boards where very loud. Was so happy getting my PB back. ?

Glad to hear Dawg! What’s the point of power running boards? Are you that concerned with how pretty your truck looks while parked or in motion? You certainly wouldn’t want some expensive motorized contraption underneath while off roading. I bet someone has power running boards and non power folding tow mirrors ?.

I've got the aftermarket power boards and it opens to an extremely convenient height between the level and larger tires. Makes entry/exit easy for everyone. Also have power fold tow mirrors.

CDF drum updated part is just starting to be used in production units as of like 2 months ago. It’s still an issue most of us will face. I love my EcoPower5.0L, but the transmission worries me

Ok. So, lower than my OEM Sport pkg boards and they fold along with your big mirrors. I can see the function there.

I'm happy that the TSB exists and the development of the 10R80 continues. That's the way a lifespan of a product should be.

But I doubt seriously that every 10r80 built previous to this new designed CDF drum is destined to have a failure. There are literally millions of 10r80's on the road from as far back as 7 years now. And statistically there has to be many thousands of examples that are higher mileage than I am likely to ever reach, yet their CDF drum didn't fail.

There's no guarantee yours won't. But there's no guarantee it will either.

I have a 22 Platinum Powerboost, for a year and an half now(picked it up June 20th of 22), and it’s been fabulous! Smooth and powerful…silky smooth transmission. Absolutely seamless transition from motor to electric, and back again. Fabulous vehicle in every way. Did I get a good one…or did they make some serious improvements for the 22’s over the 21’s?

I mean some people get bad ones fairly early. Some people have good ones that turn into bad ones. Other people get ones that incorporate design improvements, lessening the risk of ending up with a bad one later.

My 10r80 was just okay on cold mornings in the first 2k miles. Now, my truck seems as good as I would expect after having driven about 6 other 10r80s from earlier gens and mustangs. That said, all the little design updates my 2022 doesn't have are enough to keep anyone up at night from cam phasers, valves, cdf drums, leaking pinion, etc. I already had to replace some kind of faulty headlight module and shim my rear up 1 degree to get rid of a driveline vibration. Who knows where this damn thing is going to go. I do love it though frankly.

You must have gotten a good one .. 22 PB Limited and it has a work order at the dealership for every 1k miles .. getting ready to turn 18, 000. Just got it back last week after a BSIG swap.. now it doesn’t seem to switch to Electric like it used to …?

Depending on what software updates they applied, or if certain modules were "reset", you will not have the ordinary ratio of ICE/EV mileage until a few miles are recorded.

RE: power running boards, I just want RCI to build a rocker panel compatible with the PB. I took my stock running boards off because they seemed likely to wrench on the body panel if struck. A rock slider looks exactly the same as a stock running board from the exterior, but the big difference is that a rock slider bolts to the frame. For on road driving it's irrelevant, but off road rock sliders mean that steel bolted to steel takes the hits, not a cantilevered steel member bolted to your aluminum body.

Knowledge Manager, use PB as my office.
Dealer confirmed today that I should have the transmission looked at. Shop foreman drove it and said he felt the hard shifts in various gears. it's a '21 PB with about 92k KM, just shy of the 100k powertrain warranty limit. Ford will either repair or replace the trans in this case.

Does anyone know if there are any supply issues with this Trans for repair parts, or whole transmissions? I guess it's good that i have them confirm that simply flashing the tables is not fixing the problem here, but I also don't want to be without the truck for 6months while they wait for a new Trans to arrive.
