16 pages of thread and still folks continue to trade short for fear or out-of-warranty problems. No one hates the PB, but it still seems no one trusts it. Someone will reply about how many 200k+ PB's are out there. My simple retort is: 200k miles IS NOT 200k trouble-free miles.

I think the biggest factor is if you need max payload. Other than that only time will tell if the technology can hold up. With that being said the technology in my 24' 5.0 302A makes me nervous with the experience I have already had. As time goes on I am definitely more intrigued. My coworker said he can keep his in electric mode a lot with his driving style. Didn't know it could be in electric mode at 70 mph.
Your V8 goes into V-4 mode at 70 MPH which the PowerBoost cannot do. The real benefit of the PowerBoost is the city driving. You can match or best PowerBoost highway numbers all day long with the V8, you are lighter and have variable displacement technology (the first reliable widespread implementation of it too).

I still am waiting to see anyone who actually hates the PowerBoost, I’ve never met such a person. It’s a pretty capable machine.

There are a lot of Powerboost owners represented on this forum. And it's already in the 6th calendar year of production. The teething years are documented here very well, and in my opinion are very much behind us. It's really settled down considerably.

I find no reason to suspect the Powerboost will prove to be any more or less reliable than the other F150 offerings. At least not for the mean average of ownership in years/mileage, whatever that is.

Winter issues?
As mentioned previously in this thread.

My brother bought a new Escort (edit Escape!) hybrid and has had a few electrical problems. After researching it was due to one of the batteries., he upgraded the battery and it seemed to fix the problems.
Completely different animals but appears common with hybrids from what I’ve read……and also my opinion.
He’s grown tired of it and ready for a 2.7 F150.

The PB is a threat to some people’s understanding of the universe. It’s literally better at everything. The gimped and completely ignorable payload sticker is the only thing keeping some folks sane at all! ?

Think I found the problem, he drives an Escape.
