Tow mirrors have to be a knock on CAFE ratings. Could that be the reason why they're dropped?
Curious where CAFE is squeezing the industry as a whole. Tow mirrors hit mileage, might not be much but it adds up. Beefing up the hybrid batt and motor will bump city mileage. They're leaving meat on the bone not having a proper regen. The prius has an 80hp motor, more than double the power of the PB. A larger usable battery would help as well. CAFE hits 24, 25, and 26 another MPG per year. PHEV would be even better. It'll be a heavy truck but ridiculous specs.

Why are you in denial and refusing to read between the lines?
No tow mirrors means NO TOW.

The Powerboost is really just a passenger vehicle and the dryer outlet in the bed, a novelty.

I don't know why Ford won't just come out and say it.

???? (perhaps I've had too much caffeine this morning)

They are indeed a knock. Try folding them in at 80 MPH on a strait and level highway. 1.5-2.5 MPG!

Funny, I had a work trip in Columbus Ohio. On the way back to buffalo today I pulled off at a rest stop to fuel up and talked to a guy with a crew cab F-150 with the 3.5 EcoBoost and a MASSIVE camper behind it. I asked how she towed. He said he all ready ordered a 7.3 Godzilla F-250 and had “no further comment” :ROFLMAO:, that poor half ton looked so out of its league. Anything more than 8k pounds with that aero is just trouble for a half ton.
At what point is it not even camping anymore? Or is it some sort of way to prove to themself they NEED that enormous truck...

I mean is any RV / TT really camping? It's more of a small home on wheels that allows you to change your scenery.

In the same way our luxury land yachts are trucks. Absolutely!
Just cuz it's got features doesn't make it any less truck. They run circles around trucks of yesteryear. Sure the 5.0 stock leaves some torque to be desired, but still, much better performance all the way around. ?

Holy hell! Here's its sticker PDF and crop of options. Retractable tonneau, console vault

yep, lots of heavy stuff. The more you remove, the more you can haul. The heavier the truck, the less it can haul.

Because the 7350 GVWR number is immutable. I'm surprised Sir Isaac didn't catch that one. Thanks Ford engineers!

So are you saying that I have NOT been camping the last 7 years in my ~160sqft mansion?

You are right!
It's just a small home.
And this one has never moved from when I fetched it.
I tow others when I travel. Even smaller.

23 PB 157" XLT Max Tow. Pulls my #6500 GVWR TT nicely. Feels solid, plenty of muscle. My payload is #1639, but I had a spray in bed liner installed at the dealer. Anybody know about how much a spray in bed liner weighs? Just trying to get an idea of how much payload it cost me.

I have. I saw no difference, and I went at least 100 miles.

BTW, if killing the mirrors was over café they would have done it on all the trucks.
