Just log every fill-up. Easy to do with Fuelly. It's right on your phone.

All fill-ups since new for my 5.0 can be seen by clicking on my Fuelly badge in my sig. My best tank so far was 26.24 mpg and my worst was 17.25 mpg. Current lifetime is 20.0 mpg through 7,659 miles. My Monroney said 16/19/24, so I'm doing better at 17/20/26, which I attribute to living in a rural area of a flat state. Life is good.

It can be done. I'm averaging 23 mpg (staying under 70 mph and depending on road condition) while running with a piggy back chip. On back roads (under 60 mph) I can get average 25 mpg.
I am running a stock '21 PB 4wd that gets 19-26 depending on all the things you outline. Drive 45-55 (more electric mode driving) and I get 25-26. Drive under 55-60 with not a lot of stop-n-go and the MPG is up in the 24-25 range. Drive 60-65 it drops to 23-24. Drive 70 and I am at 21-22. Drive 75-80 and it is at 19-20. I have also found wind makes a big difference as the original poster mentioned, and as one would expect. I drove ~450 Blue Cruise miles this weekend on mostly 70-75mph interstate and got 21.7 as expected.

I use premium 91 octane. The few times I have not, my mileage numbers dropped by 1-3mpg across the board. I have one particular station where I try to fill my tank as i see about a 1mpg difference from using other 91 fuels from other stations. I don't put a lot of faith in the variances on the individual fillups due to the previously mentioned things like wind and speed variances. But I will say when my wife and daughter take my suggestion to fill up at this station, even with the 87 octane fuel, they sees 1-2mpg improvement, and 2-4mpg when using the 91. Daguther got 40.7mpg heading back to school on the 91 octane (typically 34-35 on whatever 87 she would typically get), thought her gas gauge was broken it took so long to move. Absolutely nothing scientific I know, but luckily the station is the closest to me.

On the other hand, one can post their complete and honestly maintained long-term mileage log ...

.... and let others draw their own conclusions  :)
Very impressive log.

In one of the OBDLink thread, one person stated when you go above 70 mph and Fuel Rate gal/hr is over 3+ gallon per hour and ~2.7 gal when keeping around 68 mph. Results may very depends on your driving habits.

I can get right at 20mpg doing 80mph on reasonably level ground. These trucks are amazing. Golden Age of half ton trucks gentlemen. Enjoy it for as long as we can!
