Anybody know about how much a spray in bed liner weighs?
Forty-ish pounds? That's the number that I've seen thrown around for that type of work. Obviously, it'll fluctuate a bit depending upon the installer's specific material used and how much of a coat the installer sprays over your bed. If I recall correctly, Ford's 2021 eSourcebook listed the factory bed liner as 45 lbs.

I have. I saw no difference, and I went at least 100 miles.

BTW, if killing the mirrors was over café they would have done it on all the trucks.
Mirrors need to be a certain size or need to be a certain angle of few for the vehicle as per NHTSA or DOT. There's laws about it that all cars need to follow. otherwise most vehicles would just put cameras or tiny mirrors to improve fuel economy.

But a 50% reduction in available parking spaces ;)
There is that. That extra WB length does make for an unwieldy vehicle, especially in a parking lot.

Of coursr my last F150, a MY14, was the absolute worst. It was a Supercab with an 8' box. 8' box was required with a regular or Supercab. That MY14 truck had a 160" WB.

So are you saying that I have NOT been camping the last 7 years in my ~160sqft mansion?

You are right!
It's just a small home.
And this one has never moved from when I fetched it.
I tow others when I travel. Even smaller.

What kind of mileage does that Mazda get when pulling that trailer? Ever thought about adding gooseneck???????

I'm debating between ordering a new '23 and finding a good used '22 at the right price. Harder then you'd think, some of these guys think silly stuff about used. Anyway, I spotted this on a '22 Max Tow PB LB w/tow mirrors:

Worked pretty hard to get a great towing rig only to fumble at the finish line. Brutal.

FWIW, I've looked at a few now and this is a new low for available payload. Wowza! Guess we know why it's called a half-ton truck!
At this point, I would pass on any truck that had the Max Tow pkg. I wouldn't want any part of that 3/4 Float axle.

I‘m not so sure us powerboost owners don’t have that axle. I will know in 1,500 more miles for sure (next oil change). My dealer’s GM said the majority of axle issues were powerboosts. The question he couldn’t answer was “were they max tow”?

When I ordered my MY22 Power Boost, I used a list that had the estimated additional weight for various options. I knew going in the PB was payload challenged and I tried to keep options as few as possible.

My truck is an XLT 302A HIGH truck with 18" tires.

I think I did pretty good. My payload is 1645#.

My travel trailer has a GVWR of 6000#, and is 24.5' long.

My PB has the regular Tow pkg option ($1,000+/-). Got it instead of the Max Tow ($2000+/-) because the PB already had most of the items that came with the Max Tow.

My truck definitely does not have the 3/4 Float axle that came with Max Tow option.

I didn’t order either on my 2022 Platinum Powerboost 4x4 with scales/ccd. Based on those options listed, I could not find 1 thing “tow package” offered for an extra $1k that I already didn’t have. “Max Tow” was useless because I’d max payload way before I’d max out how much I could pull. Also, the only thing I could find that “max tow” offered that I didn’t have was “upgraded bumper”. Keep in mind, I still don’t know that I don’t have the 9.75 3/4” floating rear axle that comes with “max tow”. I do know that powerboost comes standard with 3.73 diff and that’s also what “max tow” has. All 3.73 diffs come with 9.75 3/4 rear axle. Is one floating and the other not….meaning do powerboost have a different 9.75 3/4” rear axles?

The PB without Max Tow is rated at 11,600lbs. Goodness. I'll rent something or hire somebody before I tow that much with my truck.

I think they call it a 3/4 because it is 3/4 floating.

"What is a 3/4 floating axle?

Three-quarter floating axle design incorporates features of the semi-floating and full-floating axle designs. While it does have separate hubs, there is only a single wheel bearing per hub. The axle shaft is bolted to the hub, and, thereby, stabilizes thereof."

According to google lol.

I think the non-max tow 9.75 axle that I have is termed semi-float, while the max tow 9.75 is 3/4 float. Probably a different part number etc.

Max tow comes with an upgraded frame/hitch assembly and larger brakes too I think.

Thanks for the info. Pretty sure powerboost have the bigger brakes…at least that’s what I read here. Ford has used several different 9.75 axles over the years. The floating is new for 14 gen. I hope your right and we have the old one.

Yaw do realize not every Max Tow axle has suffered the infamous broken bolt?

I'm not saying that I wouldn't be happier if I DIDN'T have the Max Tow Axle. But there's thousands of us with no issue.
So far anyways.

That’s pretty low. My 22XLT has 1581 payload without max tow.
