I'm just about ready to upgrade to the H8 battery, but a question to those who have done so already, does the battery cables (mainly the positive cable) have enough slack (for lack of a better term) to reach the post, as the H8 Battery is about an inch to inch and a half longer? thanks for your help!

Cables were long enough on my 21 5.0

Also fwiw I've read that some people have had to replace the battery blanket, with a little convincing that also fit just fine on mine.

Just replaced my H6 with an H8 on my 23 5.0. Cables worked fine, but did replace the blanket with the 3.0 diesel one (Did not attempt to squeeze the smaller one on)

The cables were plenty long on my 21 3.5 eco. I replaced my H-6 with an H-8 last month and had no problems. I did not replace the battery blanket.

21 Lariat 5.0L, blanket was in rough shape so replaced. Cables fit fine, dealer covered both under warranty as they had changed the battery just before I got the truck and used the wrong battery, H6 but it said right on the battery, Not For Stop Start Use!

22 Lariat 3.5 EB. Like @Walter Townsend , the blanket was in rough shape, so replaced it with the bigger one. Cable is long enough, if a bit tight. Like others have said, if you remove a tie wrap\cable holder, it gives it that extra length. I did not do that, as I think the cable is fine. No issues since.

Cables long enough on 22 V8. Bought a blanket from a Ford dealership in another state because it was cheaper than most websites

Do you have a part number for that?

My 2024 PB has a H7 battery. There does not appear to be enough room to install an H8 battery. Is there a change from earlier PB that no longer makes installing an H8 in a PB feasible? Can you still use an H8 in a 2023 PB?
