  1. Thoughts on our OEM batteries.

No, the AGM batteries don't like sitting around, my brother in law, who drives approximately 120 miles a day, has never had to replace the OEM battery. His last truck, a 2020 had 165K on the battery when he traded it.
  2. 5900 mile cross country trip in 2025 PowerBoost Lariat

Before I purchased my 2021 Platinum, I test drove multiple trims, my Brother in laws XLT and a Lariat and a Platinum at a dealer. The XLT and lariat were a no go, like you I couldn't get the seat adjusted so that I sat comfortably. I have to say the seats in my Platinum with the massage are very...
  3. Key Fob Not Always Working

2021 job 1 , my key fob has never had an issue with lock/unlock or being recognized by the truck to start, but it constantly fails at remote start or activating the power tailgate. Changing the remote battery had no affect and both remotes act the same way.
  4. Thoughts on our OEM batteries.

Yeah I know I should have had an H-7 from the factory, but it didn’t. I didn’t bother fighting with the dealer over it. Was it annoying yes, was it critical, not really. The point of my post was that the batteries were undersized, but not necessarily bad.
  5. Thoughts on our OEM batteries.

Last February I finally replace the OEM H-6 in my 2021 Job 1 Platinum with a Walmart H-8, best move I made. The reason for this post is I took my old battery and put in in my neighbors John Deere diesel tractor which had a failing battery. The tractor sits and doesn't see much use unless I use...
  6. For Those Lamenting "Rising Truck Prices"

I did daily my Jag in the summer, but like all British cars it marked its spot with oil, and it wasn't always just drips, sometimes it would puke out a decent puddle when you least expected it. When you started it you ran your gaze across the gauges, oil pressure check, fuel check, Charging...
  7. For Those Lamenting "Rising Truck Prices"

Make that 3 old guys, I’m 70 as well and I still love my 21 Platinum. Just returned from our twice yearly trip down south with the truck and I still want to just get in and drive!
  8. For Those Lamenting "Rising Truck Prices"

It's the allure of when times were simpler. Yes, up until the early 70's before the advent of electronic ignition you could diagnose and fix your car easily. I started driving in 72 and wrenched on cars early on. Yes they were simple, would I want to go back to that level of tech, absolutely...
  9. Fuel efficiency gains (if any) by going with lighter aftermarket wheels and summer tires...

When you change your wheels to a different offset you are putting additional stress on the wheel bearings. Too much change either positive or negative can cause premature failure of the wheel bearings or other components . Lots of people do it, just need to be prepared for possible early...
  10. 2024 F-150 Lariat vs Deer 60 mph

I would be very surprised if the bags didn't deploy!
  11. I Agree With Farley - Dealerships need to change

Yeah, my local dealer is still family owned, but the owner passed away last year and the son is running the business now, still doing a great job, but they are actively shopping the business to find a new owner. I dread the day that happens.
  12. What would you do?

    Sorry, I missed that part.
  13. What would you do?

Sometimes you just need to escalate a concern. Take this to the General Manager and if that doesn't yield any results, contact Ford customer service. At the very least I would want an explanation of why the mechanic had dirty gloves on while in my truck and why he disconnected the dash cam.
  14. Heaters for LED headlights

It is a problem with led’s , but the solution you are asking for i have never heard of. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, you just haven’t heard of it yet.
  15. Fixed: Quad LED Headlights Failed

Gotta love that Premium ESP. I never buy an extended warranty , but I did this time. The same one that you have.
  16. 21 Powerboost Cold air blowing out from around steering column

I'm sure there is a seal around the steering shaft where it passes thru the firewall.
  17. Fixed: Quad LED Headlights Failed

Just like a manufacturer to list a part #, but not offer it for sale, only as an assembly. Yes, that could be it, shorted internally. Is it hard to swap the ballast unit and see if the failure move to the opposite side? Might be worth a try before spending $60.
  18. Fixed: Quad LED Headlights Failed

I would be concerned with the short to ground message. Possibly a pinched wire or a rub thru in a harness, although a short would produce a blown fuse. Did you have the right side headlight assy out for any reason? I would grab a wiring diagram and start tracing wires.
  19. Multiple Warning Lights and DTCs

This may not be a software problem, since you mentioned loss of communication it may be something as simple as powers and grounds. The trick is finding out which circuits control the affected modules and start tracing wires, looking for bad connections at plugs and looking for bad grounds. For...
  20. Hallelujah, my first update in 2 years!

Yes they are, I got that update back on the 8th of October and 2 more since. Glad it worked for you as well.
