Btw: We have unofficial official confirmation that the "Power-Up" label is going to be dropped going forward with the 7.x.x updates. I say "unofficial official" because the announcement did not come from Ford directly, but confirmation was provided by someone who is known to be a Ford employee that hinted at it. The numerical references will remain, and as far as we know, the "priority updates" label will remain, as well.

The most recent document I’ve seen in regards to the 7.0.X series of OTAs uses the designation “FPU.” I don’t know if this is a permanent or an interim designation.

I don't know what to make of the "FPU" you see there, but they already started with 6.13.0.

6.8.0 release notes read:

Ford F-150 Got update last night 1708108002731

And 6.13.0 reads:

Ford F-150 Got update last night 1708108041736

7.0.0 reads:

Ford F-150 Got update last night 1708109255450

Now, they only saw "software update".

No, but when it does drop, it will spread like wildfire through the forums and believe me.....we will know.

I don’t know what to make of it either. The document I attached uses both “FPU” and “Software Update.”

My question is, didn't it used to show the software version up at the top ofvthe screen?

So I'm not nuts? It used to say the version?

How do I know if I have 7.0.0?

Priority updates say which update it is at the bottom. Power Up updates would have a series of numbers at the top. 3.5.3, 4.24, 6.2.0, etc.

You would have BC 1.4 which nobody has via the OTA process.

I think it’s a good idea for them to ditch the numbers. It’s really just like a package number rather than a revision number. That’s why they don’t flow in order. They clearly have people going nuts over the numbers not being in order. ?

Sounds like the generic failure message you get when your battery is too low. I would charge the battery up.
Thanks, that seemed to do the trick, it just completed. Never had to do that before, and had some long drives this week (1.5 hours+ all interstate) and it still didnt want to complete.

They also clearly have no idea what "revision control" means.
For example, a while ago they published a Power Up update (I think it was power up), then shortly thereafter published an update to the update with the SAME number.
It's like someone thought it important to horde revision numbers or something.
Stupid Stupid Stupid.
Ford makes nice trucks but they can't do software to save their lives.

Yeah after calling all day and never getting anything other than the default message I gave up and made an appointment at the dealership for Saturday for them to look at the truck and update modules if needed. We shall see how it goes since everything should be good other than that IPMA module.
ill have to roll your truck back to the previous PCM strategy to get it fixed. I Fixed the other one today.

Mine is currently at the Ford dealer here in Knoxville hopefully getting fixed by them. I know they have looked at it and test drove it and cleared the code but I'm not sure what they might have actually fixed or updated yet. Waiting for an update from them soon to maybe tell me they already did that.

They are saying the OTA update didn't finish and they had to reprogram it and that it is all fixed now. Can you see what if anything they had to update and if it was the same plan of action you had?
