I just got my update 2 days ago. My wrench just turned on 10 minutes ago. I noticed smoother shifting and today seemed like an increase in power. I don't think I'm imagining it. What did this update actually do the details aren't very specific??? hahah
There's things listed in the update notes that may have been affected but I haven't noticed much other than the wrench. The actual fault code is U031D-00. States it is "Software Incompatibility with Parking Assist Control Module A" being the current DTC and causing the warning lamp to be on. It doesn't seem to affect the truck at all that I've noticed. You can clear it and it might not show back up until you drive it 2-3 times but it has come back every time I've cleared it without fail. Not sure how to fix it myself but I have an appointment to drop it off at the Ford dealer Saturday morning and let them figure it out. Hopefully it's fully covered under my 100,000 mile warranty since the truck only has 14,000 miles on it haha.

That pretty much lines up with what Jesse was mentioning. There's a good chance that the IPMA update should have been a prerequisite to the PCM update.

The code description is a bullseye.

And it would explain why the drivability is just fine regardless of the instrument cluster warning.

I have been stuck on 6.3 with four failed attempts to get it downloaded and installed.

Congrats on your OTA!!!
Mine also. Message is something like "conflict with another process", pretty sure its at the 3rd or 4th try now, and is now waiting until Saturday to try again.

Sounds like the generic failure message you get when your battery is too low. I would charge the battery up.

@Solid86 I have the truck that Jesse is referring to in the post. Jesse has given me a course of action to do the updates in FDRS and do some testing as I apply the updates. I will be installing these updates on Monday and will report back to this thread with the results.

Yes, forget about the EA support line Ford seems to have abandoned it. ? ?

Yeah after calling all day and never getting anything other than the default message I gave up and made an appointment at the dealership for Saturday for them to look at the truck and update modules if needed. We shall see how it goes since everything should be good other than that IPMA module.

@Spiffy It would be very helpful for the members of the forum searching for information about this OTA if you could rename your thread to "Power-up 23-PU1009-SS-NS" or something like that.

Thanks!

It's 23-PU1009-SS-NS.
Thanks. So what update woukd it have shown? Did ford decide not to include the update version anymore so we don't go around comparing and moaning and complaining?

This is what was updated. Release notes read:

Group ID 1 - Software Update

Your vehicle has been updated with following:

Powertrain Your vehicle's powertrain software has been updated to help prevent a possible error state where a "Stop Safely Now" message may appear. Stability Improvements Your vehicle is now enhanced with improved stability during low-state-of-charge battery conditions, and you will get more reliable warnings in the driver display when low-state-of-charge conditions exist. We have made update to your ABS calibration to optimize your vehicle performance. Approach Detection Approach detection functionality has been added to your vehicle which recognizes when you are approaching to the vehicle with a valid key fob and will provide the welcome animation. You can enable or disable the approach detection on the Sync screen.

So? Where is the version? How do I know what the power up version was? Unless we don't use the mongoose?

This is a priority update.....not a power-up update.

It’s not a Power-Up. When, as here, “PU” is in the update code, it’s called a “Priority Update.” It’s outside the Power-Up chain of updates.
