So if I want to try on windows 11 again, do I have to “return” the license key on the windows 10 laptop and then re-validate it on the windows 11 laptop?38.x wouldn't login at all for me Sunday.
Kept giving errors trying to login.
Had to use latest version and got right in with my Windows 11 laptop.
Try these versions if what linked above doesn't work for you.

I've never had to do this, but from my understanding, yes you would have to move the license over.So if I want to try on windows 11 again, do I have to “return” the license key on the windows 10 laptop and then re-validate it on the windows 11 laptop?
So when it finally did work, did it say the same thing, "Charge only USB device"? And then randomly decided to work after a while? I'm having this exact same issue trying to update my APIM with a sandisk 32gb usb drive.Ok so it finally went thru!
The new USB I just left in the truck with the truck running, while @Jesse-Infotainment looked into some stuff and just the thought of him getting involved scared the Ford gods straight and my truck just turned off I supposed after the 20 minute timer, I waited 10 minutes, turned it back and boom update successful.
Not sure if because I had corupted APIM files before that the messages from the USB were not displaying or what, but it finally worked.
All thats left is the TCU update...man what a day.
I have a similar issue with a bush now, thankfully it's at my in-laws house so I don't deal with it often. During the worst fit the truck kept engaging emergency braking and not letting me move, I had to slam a gas and do a mini burn out just to be able to back into their driveway. It throws a fit every time we go there now, wasn't an issue previously. After installing the updated IPMA software multiple times now cross traffic alert thing freaks out over the post next to my driveway when I'm backing up. The post isn't moving and this was never an issue with the old software. ?![]()
It doesn't auto brake just alerts. I think that is in how I have settings on center screen setup. The alert is useful at times but I don't want truck braking for me. I just find it odd that suddenly it wants to freak out over a post off to the side of truck. I guess they couldn't get everything correct in the new software.I have a similar issue with a bush now, thankfully it's at my in-laws house so I don't deal with it often. The ACM not coming off of the list is a known issue. Don't worry about that. Thanks @rugedraw @fordtruckman2003 and @Snakebitten for your guys replies and help over the past couple days. I was able to get version 40.4.5 to log me into FDRS on the windows 10 home laptop. Did not have any luck at all with the windows 11 home laptop. Once I was finally able to log in, I was able to update to 40.4.8 and it worked as it should. I got most of the updates done but ran out of time to finish everything. Will need to buy another 2 day license to finish up. The last 3 updates I saw that were available were the BCM update, which it wont let me do anyways without extra credentials, and an update for the TCU and ACM. The weird thing with the ACM update, is that I applied it to the truck, and it did not get removed from the list when it refreshed. With that update, I noticed that my audio in the truck now sounds like shit. Now I realize that many people are having this issue but I thought this issue was resolved with a DSP update. Why was I still able to flash the ACM update without the DSP update?
Ok gotcha. Now Im wishing I didnt do that update since the audio sounds crappy now. Do you think the DSP update that fixes the issue will be released to my truck now?The ACM not coming off of the list is a known issue. Don't worry about that.
Well, the update that messed up the audio for people with the 8 speaker B&O system was a DSP update and not the ACM. Not sure why that update affected your sound system negatively, tbh.Ok gotcha.
