OK, dumb question - does the power supply need to be in charging mode, or Power Supply?

So when I put it on PS it shows P5 on the display, is this normal?
Yea, it's an analog display, so the S looks like a 5.

Told you it was a stupid question :D
Stupid would have been not asking, not putting it in PS mode, and bricked a module and then go on an unnecessary mission to recover it.

Well, it was in charging mode in the beginning, first few updates, so hopefully everything is fine ?

Now, I just inserted my USB and it says system updating. Do I need to keep the engine running?

Yes, USB updates are done with the truck on. Go slow, and follow the instructions in FDRS and the touchscreen precisely.

Trying to update TCU, inserted USB to vehicle, started engine, it said "System Updating", I left the truck and came back and now it doesn't say anything. How do I know if it failed and if I should take the USB out?

You get a message on screen saying it completed and message goes away.
Follow steps in FDRS it will ask if it was successful and tell you to insert USB into laptop. Do that say it was successful and it will check files to verify. If it turns out that update didn't install it will tell you and you can try again.

System is pretty dang easy but USB updates sometimes don't work.

I never had to wait more than maybe 10 minutes to get message on screen success or fail.

From my own experience with updates...
You never really have to start truck, assuming you have it on a power supply. Hit start button you get that message that full accessory power is on. That powers everything in truck to run updates and power supply runs it all.

Updates completed, for the most part. Thanks to all the wisdom by everyone here who helped and still helping myself and others!

Few notes/questions:

  1. The only update left in the list is the BCM which apparently cannot be done at this moment because of the NASTF login requirement.
The updates brought my SYNC to Version 23159, revision 915.
According to the version history, the latest version 23167, revision 926. I don't get this APIM update, even after several Network Reruns. Is there a reason? Anything I can do to get it?

  2. For a long time I had IPMA DTC (something with the rear camera, I think it started after enabling Glare Free lights, but I may be wrong. I run the 360 calibration tool and the DTC is finally gone.

  3. The only DTC I still have is SCCM. I cleared and re-run, all was green, but then after another Network Rerun the DTC came back.
In the Self Test it looks like there is a TSB related to it, if I read it correctly:

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS 1716138603054-63

When I click this DTC in the Toolbox, it opens another tab on the far right:

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS 1716138728578-1

Is there anything here that I can/should run to try and fix it?

  4. Adaptive Headlamps - it may be my imagination, but I noticed that the adaptive headlamps are significantly more "active" and noticeable after the updates.

  5. I reported issues with Waze not working in other threads. It is working fine now, apparently the issue was the older SYNC/Android Auto "communication" with Waze.

  6. Windows - there is definitely a change in the front door windows' behavior. I have a wind deflector and before the updates, when auto closing the windows they would drop back down about a quarter way because of the narrow path that the wind deflector causes.
Now, after DDM/PDM update they are dropping back almost all the way down.
I don't see a Power Door Window Initialization in the Guided Routine Tab.
How do I go about re-program them?
Thanks.
