I’m so glad I stumbled across this post as I’ve been trying to nail down what may have possibly been causing my misdirected chimes. I think when I created my post fall of last year I didn’t get too much traction, and I even started going down the rabbit hole of battery voltage issues even though I have ZERO other issues besides the randomness of those chimes coming from the instrument cluster. My ‘22 Platinum with the B&O Unleashed I got brand new in May 2023, and had no weird chimes till Sept 2023 when I got 23-PU0327-DSP-AMP which showed it was to fix the static noise issue. While I guess that fixed (or significantly minimized it enough that I couldn’t notice anymore) I swore that it also caused my random misdirected chimes. It’s not every time, but when it happens it drives me crazy.I think that was the intention, but who knows? This particular version was a problem for some people last year because after installation it was causing misdirected chimes to the cluster. And it wasn’t clear it actually fixed anything. Since mine rolled back to -BK last summer I’ve gotten IPC and ACM updates so maybe Ford decided to give -BN another shot.
All that said, I don’t currently have FDRS (never used) and I don’t have a legit Mongoose cable…I’ve done plenty FORScan work on this truck already but I am very curious to know if there might be a newer update for my truck. I’m asking out of slight ignorance but assume I’m going to need FDRS and a good quality cable like Mongoose to do this check (and update)? If there even is one for me. Just finding this thread post has me hopeful!
