ECU module programming guide using FDRS

This issue with Ford, could it be why an APIM update I did about 3 weeks ago is still showing in FDRS but shows it went through in PTS

No, the problem is with a GWM that doesn't release when it's supposed to in the sequence. It started a couple months ago. It wasn't always an issue.

I installed about 15 updates yesterday and today. Probably about 10-12 hours total including today doing a PMI and update on IPMA that took about 2.5 hours. Thanks for everyone's help.

I had two or three APIM updates and Sync is 23291_PRODUCT, so I think I'm fully up to date.

By the way. After one of the updates, I got the below message. The only thing I can find with this number is about the tailgate recall. Does anyone have this insert or know what change of functionality they are talking about?

Double press of all tailgate buttons to drop tailgate is the change made. Many seem to gripe about it but you'll get used to it.

Would running a PMI the GWM clear the problem?

It will not. Unfortunately.

No particular order. CMR is not simple, takes about an hour to complete. DSP is one to test with, since it's quick ~10 minutes. Make sure you have a power supply connected and laptop plugged in to power. The IPMA is ~3 hours.

My concern was the fact that it errored out. It wouldn't update.

Currently stuck with the IPMA update… download and install took about 2.5 hours but now I’m in a loop it seems of “the module will now be configured”. Cancel is also greyed out as well…

Closed it out, restarted and apim came up amber. Cleared dtc’s and re-tested and it came up green so here’s hoping!

DTCs are normal.. Orange in modules after updates are completely normal

It typically clears all DTCs after the update it didnt since it didnt get to that.

It’s very hard to brick a ford module. You have to really be trying
