Honest question to those who might know, is there really ever a benefit to updating the BCM module? I get there are specific cases, like the tailgate issue earlier this year but what else would justify needing to update?

It would be nice if Ford would do release notes or a change list, so there was more information to decide to install the updates. I know it is wishful thinking, but more info would be fantastic.

Thanks for the update Jesse. In some ways it’s good to know it’s not just me. If you find anything new out or need me to test anything I’m willing to be the Guinea Pig.
A guy last night. I wasnt around So I made a post while I was driving. The other person that had the issue had a BAD ABS update bricked his truck last time and I fixed that.

He texted me and asked if the abs was ok to do now. I looked and said it was. He then did the BCM andtexted me and showed me the DTC and he had same condition as you.

So it seems somethign with the left headlamp and quad LED> Everyone that I knew had the dynamic.

It still doesnt make sense they use the same low beam output and DRL output.

Ill look into it today.. But it doesnt make any sense to me. So for nwo its safest to not do it.

I can think of a lot of things but headlamps not working is not one I would have thought of.

I wasnt sure with yours but two now same exact issue hard to argue that.

I do have an appt. to take it to the dealer but soonest available is Jan 4th.

One quick question. Do BCM updates come OTA? I hope not cause others may get this same issue.

I'm pretty content with how everything is working now with having full screen carplay and some of the changes I've done in Forscan. I'm actually not even concerned about updates any more unless there is some new feature that gets pushed out that seems like it would be a must have.

It's been a little while for me, and no OTA updates in months. When/if able, would someone kindly provide the available updates for my VIN? 1FTFW1E80MFA20877

Well... add me to the list of "dead" driver headlights after the BCM updates. Should have read back further in the thread before diving in. That's what I get for only doing this every 6 months. ?‍♂

@Jesse-Infotainment: Any thoughts or resolutions on this one yet?
Unfortunetley no. Seems it blows the headlamp module. One of the other guys tested all the voltages and everything was where it needed to be.

The driver fog DRL remains working. So the lin bus is still ok. Seems there is something during programming that happens that sends a death touch to the left front headlamp.

I wish I had a truck close to me so I could diag it and know. its hard an dI am limited on what I can do remotley.

Is it appearing to be a malfunctioning/damaged hardware issue (and possibly not resolvable by software or programming)?
Yes.

I tried to roll Sparky back adn tried everythign software related I could and nothign fixed it. There is a module in the headlamp. Seems it takes a dump for whatever reason

I find it mind boggling that a software update would be as untested as this update had to be.
Was the previous update that was immediately discovered to be a no-no also a BCM update?
