I have tried it in the other location with the same results. As soon as I turn on the ignition, the voltage drops as low as 12.4 volts. I have just left it on the charger for a half hour now to see it it helps. The engine ran for over an hour on the drive home so it would be odd for the battery to be low.

I have the same charger and when I start the engine the charger senses higher voltage or a voltage drop from the engine cranking and automatically stops charging. I think its a safety feature to protect its self and the vehicle. I had the same issue as you when FDRS did a check I had 13.2 volts and 79% state of charge. FDRS needs 80% or more to proceed. I stopped all updates and shut the ignition off and let the charger charge for about 30 minutes at 20 amps. After doing this FDRS ran the update without any issues.

Battery just needed a little love and we are off to the races! I am not sure why my battery was so worn down... might still need to be checked at Ford.

My dealer had the same problem when working on BlueCruise update. Ended up replacing the battery.

I’m glad you got through the procedure, but two things for future reference:

1. You should always start these programming sessions with a fully-charged battery. Just driving the truck around for an hour might not be enough. Put the battery on the charger and charge it overnight. Start the session in the morning with a full charge.

2. Run the charger in power supply mode during the session. The picture above shows the charger was in charge mode, not power supply. The small light that says “PWR SUPPLY” in the far upper left corner will be lit when the charger is operating in the correct mode. These are the instructions for the PL-2320:

Upon making a proper battery connection (see Section F or G as applicable), plug AC power cord into an AC receptacle. All unit LEDs will light momentarily, then only the LEDs corresponding to charging settings should stay lit. The charger is now in Standby Mode. To activate the Power Supply mode, push the VOLTS button until the LED corresponding to Power Supply is lit. Note that this will disable all other controls and settings, such as battery type and charge rate settings. Press the START/STOP button to engage the Power Supply mode.
When the unit is operating in Power Supply mode, the display will show “PS” and the green Charging Complete LED will be lit.

Just wondering if they’re seeding anything new yet. Last time I checked I only had the GSM update that doesn’t go away.

Would anyone mind having a peek and letting me know if I have anything new?

I am confused with the directions for the IPC Module update. It says it will take 12 minutes to read the date off the USB drive - clicked ok. Then says ignition on and engine on - turn off when "restart required" shown on display - clicked ok. I inserted the USB and nothing has happened for 20 minutes now.

For those who got past 1.7.1 with this method and not the TSB what did you do after the USB was created? I created the USB but forgot to plug the plug back in for the TSB and so the stick wasn't recognized and I told the software it failed. Then I remembered to plug the plug back in and the stick was recognized but nothing else happened. Do you think that I should run the whole process again or just leave the stick in and cross my fingers?

also I will note I tried the TSB multiple times and it kept failing at fastboot so leaving the stick in is pretty much the last thing I can do I guess. I tried multiple computers

you guys know if there is any way to get the system to recognize I'm past the 1.7.1 freeze to get the 22B08 monkey off my back, or is the only way with a dealer visit? do we know if that verification process is quick and painless or they gunna wanna keep it for days and run some tests?

FWIW

To my knowledge the TSB 22-2150 is only done IF you can't get the APIM or TCU to update.

So I would start ECU Module Programming Guide Using FDRS
AND follow 21G01 to the LETTER - especially the ORDER in which modules to update.
Both Attached

Pay attention to these small details that for some reason ALWAYS slip past people
  1. Battery voltage - if your lower than 12.6 you're gonna have issues - Check your ground
  2. Turn you headlights, AC, Radio and anything else off. Your headlights have to done each time you cycle the ignition
  3. Good interne & WiFi signal, run a speed test - if your not getting RELIABLE 50Mbps or better you're gonna have issues
  4. Good computer (less than 3years old) i5 or better
  5. Properly formatted USB drive - don't just think it is, check
  6. Be patient and FOLLOW the directions!

And for the love of Pete, Don't use a NANO and expect miracles, yes it works I started off with one but got the Mongoose because I invested in a truck that requires TLC and she deserves the best.
