No more updates showing and I'm only up to 23291. And when I logged out and restarted my laptop and logged back in and hooked everything up, I get this error message from FDRS. The mongoose is connected because I have green status lights on the bottom and it's showing the correct battery voltage. Any ideas?

Hmmmm.....not sure. Can't say I have seen that before. I turn the truck off and let is sit locked for a half hour or so and try again.

It is possible you cannot update any further past where you are until Ford releases more updates for your VIN.

It is possible you cannot update any further past where you are until Ford releases more updates for your VIN.
Just took it for a drive and came back and hooked everything back up. Now I don't get an error and it's communicating with the truck fine. But I still only have 2 updates available (not really), BCM and ACM (which I've done at least twice).

Bummed I can't get the latest Sync version but at least I have the full screen Carplay now. I'm also pleased with the improvement of the engine coming on when pulling away from a stop. Before it was a bit jerky but now it's very smooth. Hopefully it stays that way and doesn't gradually go back to the way it was. Will take it on the freeway tomorrow to see if the lane centering performance has improved.

What do you think, wait a couple of months and see if more updates have been released? Mind if I PM you at that time to check before I buy another license?

ACM not coming off the list after you do it is normal; ignore that one.

Just FYI: Having a fully charged 12v battery will not do anything to speed up the OTA process or trigger more updates to be sent. Having a charged 12v battery is only to improve the chances that an OTA will install once it gets sent. If an OTA is going to be sent to a vehicle, it will be sent regardless of the condition of the battery.

There may be something hinky with the PCM, at least on the ‘21 Powerboost. I tried to update my PCM about three weeks ago and couldn’t because of a GVMS block. I opened a case but it didn‘t clear before my license expired.

What is your PCM’s strategy version?

Planning to do FDRS updates for the first time. Can the updates be done with a door open or must the door be closed?
I will use a security camera to monitor the PC screen. Will I also need one to view SYNC screen?
If anyone has a tip or two to ease the process and minimize my anxiety, I would be grateful.

I think there was a couple updates that had specific instructions in FDRS regarding the doors and a wait time before continuing but I always have the door closed.

They also say to turn the key off. Neither has really done anything for me. I've done a dozen updates without cycling the key a single time. I've 'intentionally' bricked modules and then unbricked them. That's not say it's not possible to irrecoverably brick a module, I just haven't reached the threshold via update/sideloading/voltage droop.

I was able to do the SOBDMC on my ‘21, which then handed off to the PCM but the PCM routine only configured the module. No software or calibration changes presumably because of the GVMS block. I’m still at VGJ.
