No, your ford.com login should work.
Well when I enter my ford.com login I get a "worse" error than when I enter in my newly-created motorcraftservice.com login. So it seems the ford.com login really doesn't work and hopefully I just need to wait a little longer for my motorcraftservice.com login to work.

I did reread the guide in Post 1 of this thread and realized it does state you have to create a motorcraftservice.com account "if you don't already have one." I guess I didn't appreciate that would be completely separate from the typical ford.com account until now.

And what really threw me for a loop is I don't get this "User Type" choice in my FDRS login screen. Maybe it's because I installed the newest version of FDRS released last month and they made some change. Maybe the guide in Post 1 could be updated for stuff like this to help newbies like me.

"NON-DEALER MOTORCRAFT" is not a choice in the latest FDRS software (version 44.4.6).

I think I’m ready FDRS.
Using FORScan verified battery SOC at 82% and the voltage a steady 13.1 with power supply. Did an as built backup, all 35 modules, as well a complete as built on the Motorcraft site. Cleared the only DTC which was in the HCM.
Anything else needed to be done?

Not sure where you are in this right now, so I’m going to start from scratch.

The first post was created approximately three years ago and a lot has changed since then. That post cannot be edited because the user who created it no longer participates on the forum. So, we, and you, are stuck with it, warts and all. One of those warts is that the “non-dealer motorcraft” user type in FDRS no longer exists. It has been replaced by “independent operator/non-dealer” and it is the only user type that will work for non-Ford employees. Don’t attempt to use any other user type. It won’t work.

The site where you bought the FDRS license is maintained by a Ford subsidiary called Helm. It uses a different set of credentials than any other Ford-affiliated site. Create one set of credentials for that site (username and password) and use those credentials ONLY for buying your license.

Ford.com, motorcraftservice.com and FDRS all use the same credentials and they are NOT the same as the credentials used to purchase your license. To make sure your credentials are properly synced, log into Ford.com first. Email and password. You want to make sure these creds work properly because these are also the credentials you’ll ordinarily use for FordPass.

Once you’ve verified that your creds work properly on Ford.com, go to motorcraftservice.com and log in there with the same credentials you used for Ford.com and FordPass. If those credentials do not work, then create a new motorcraftservice.com account using those same credentials. Then log in and accept a couple of EULAs. You’ll also be asked to identify what kind of user you are. I used DIYer.

Once you’ve confirmed that your creds work on motorcraftservice.com and you’ve accepted the EULAs, then try to log into FDRS as “independent operator/non-dealer” using the same credentials you used for Ford.com and motorcraftservice.com. If it doesn’t work immediately, wait for an hour and try again. But DO NOT keep creating new credentials. It will only make things worse.

See if that works.

Good evening all.

2021 F150 PB Lariat. I have FDRS up and running with a Mongoose-Plus Ford2. IPMA does not show as an option to update? Any thoughts?

This is what FORscan shows.
IPMA - Image Processing Module A
Part number: ML3T-14G647-NA
Calibration level: ML3T-14G647-NA
Strategy : ML3T-14H102-ABS
Calibration: ML3T-14H103-AAJ

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My 2 day FDRS clock is ticking.

I would do the PCM. If you have completed the ACM, it will not dissappear from the list. When completed all, shut down the truck and wait 20 or 30 minutes. Also shut down the PC. When time is up, restart PC, FDRS and log in. Connect to the truck and do a Network scan. If any update is hiding in the wings, it is possible it will show up. PM @rugedraw if nothing shows and ask him.

Not sure where you are in this right now, so I’m going to start from scratch......
Thanks for the thorough explanation. The new login I created on motorcraftservice.com worked on FDRS after a few hours so I was able to start updating modules at 3pm and had 21 updates done by 10pm, including two long APIM updates. Started back at it an hour ago this morning with a long IMPA update and hopefully there's only a few more to do after that.

Understand the OP is no longer around. Can't an admin update that Post #1?

Need Advice: My 24th module update was to update the GWM for a 2nd time. I guess I got a little hasty - at the end after turning the ignition off for 10 minutes and then back on for up to 5 minutes to wait for the update successful message on the truck's center screen, I never got the successful update message. FDRS says to click OK for a successful test as long as there is no explicit error message. So I clicked OK and it opened up another TCU update for download. I pulled the USB drive, inserted into laptop, and erased it to load the TCU update. THEN I get a USB error on the center screen. Not sure if that's just because I pulled the USB drive out too quickly but the GWM update actually did take. Question is, should I go ahead and install the TCU update? Will it know to abort if the GWM was not actually updated? Or do I risk bricking it if the GWM update was not successful? Since I already erased the USB drive, how to I get that GWM update again? It's not appearing in my available downloads screen. Thanks.

Don’t overthink this. Just apply the TCU update normally and then rescan for additional updates.

@Lead Foot PowerBoost I second this. Just keep going.
Thanks for the quick response gents. I was leaning that way but needed to hear it from someone else. The TCU update successfully finished but then another GWM update popped up. Who knows if that would've happened anyway or it's because it senses it didn't successfully update this morning. Anyway will remain patient with this one and not pull the flash drive out before told to do so.

This GWM update will be the 26th update performed since 3pm yesterday! And I"m still only on Sync 23159. Gotta fly out in the morning and thinking I'm not gonna get to all the APIM updates before my license runs out.

The fact that you are still showing updates is good, so keep going until no more show up and hopefully you can get all the way up to 24127.

No more updates showing and I'm only up to 23291. And when I logged out and restarted my laptop and logged back in and hooked everything up, I get this error message from FDRS. The mongoose is connected because I have green status lights on the bottom and it's showing the correct battery voltage. Any ideas?
