Warning: If drilling holes in your bed triggers you, click the back button. If spending money on something you don't need and only like the look of it triggers you, click the back button. If you have to ask why, click the back button. If you need to type I wouldn't do that, then click the back button.

Now, let's get down to business. I installed a Milwaukee Packout Wall onto the headrail of my bed. The cost was minimal compared to retail options. I bought two Packout wall panels from Home Depot for $80. I bought some additional items I wanted for another $20, but these items are something that many of you likely already have in your shop.

I drilled four holes in the bed and installed 1/4-20 nurserts. The top of the panels attach here. I made a wood spacer 60"x2.5"x1.5" deep and this goes behind the panels at the bottom. I installed 1/4-20 threaded inserts in the spacer and used four bolts to attach it to the bottom of the panels. The spacer fills the gap between the panels and the bed. The bottom of the wall is not attached to the bed, though at a later date I may anchor them to the factory tie downs. For now the Bedrug holds the bottom in tight. That's it. Easy peasy.

The wall will hold 3 large Packouts, or 6 small Packouts, or a combination of both.

It's useful truck bling to me. I have nothing to even put on the wall. Let's compare prices. This will cost around $80+. I considered BuiltRight's offering, but the equivalent wall would cost $695. Integral has a less expensive offering at $300. Neither of these companies have product for my 6.5 bed, only the 5.5 bed.

Spending money on something I don't need and only like the look of also triggers me.
Why?
I wouldn't do that.

Well done. I think it actually looks better than the Builtright.

Epic and out of the box thinking, thanks for sharing! I wonder if something similar can be done by the tie down brackets (cannot remember what they are called, box link?). Might have to look into these.

That’s pretty smart and looks good too.

I had no idea packout walls existed, I do not have a need for one, yet I am intrigued and impressed!

The Integral headrail unit is a nice bolt in unit, but it is still way more dollars than using Milwaukee Packout wall plates. The wall plates hold more too. I think the Integral unit is better than the Builtright offering just because of price. Builtright is cool stuff, but very expensive comparatively speaking. You can mount anything to either commercial offering. You can mount anything to Milwaukee's wall plates too. Another advantage of the wall plates is that they take up less bed space. An inch or two comes in handy sometimes.

I do use Builtright's side molle panels. I'm not a tradesman. I don't need handy access after opening the tailgate. Hanging stuff on the bed's headrail works for me. It keeps things stowed away.

That looks like a clean install first off. Very interesting since I'd looked at molle panels before to possibly put things away on but man are they expensive and I can't justify the price for possibly never really using. Lol.
What all do they have for the pack outs. I've got all dewalt so I don't know much about the pack out.

Check out this. There's all sorts of things. What I did is very affordable. I can think of even more affordable ways, but I would not accept the aesthetics. Sadly, while the wall is affordable, the Packouts items you put on the wall can get pricey. Pick and choose wisely.

Wtf is a packout wall?
A Packout wall is wall of Milwaukee Packout stuff. A wall can be large and extensive, or small like in my truck. Look again at @mrbuntman post above. He has a Packout wall in his garage.
