2022 PowerBoost. I was installing a Fumoto valve and had tightened it a shy over hand tight (1/8 of a turn more) and took a picture to see it better and noticed the cracks.
Up until now all the oil changes have been at the dealership and the drain plug was on TIGHT.
Am I being paranoid?
Very nice!
It was a tight fit in places and made me think about getting a 2" lift/level if I'm going to be doing trails like this.
Sweet looking truck, that was a fun weekend out there! :)
I've done the park assist as a parlor trick, the steering wheel spinning around like a demon possessed vehicle freaks passengers out and is worth the effort of putting back in. :D
That said, I've used that feature a grand total of 5 times in 2 years of ownership.
To me, it stinks of some accounting types going "Well its still selling for a premium without the added cost to actually include the features, keep shipping it as it is."
This was two years ago, so I'm a bit hazy. Shipping was about $2000, not the cheapest quote but included insurance and was from a company I trusted.
To register, I went to the DMV in Pleasanton, they did the VIN check etc, and then asked me to get the truck weighed. I just drove it in to get it...
I too bought from Chip, and Shelby was awesome. I did the purchase entirely over the phone and had a shipper pick up my truck and bring it to the Bay Area for me, so I never got to meet them both but I have nothing but good things to say about them.
Ford even shipped my truck to them without a...
I did it in my stock FX4 Powerboost with AT4/W tires in the stock size with P rating and my truck had no issues at any point. You'll be fine in a Tremor if you pick your line etc. There are spots wide enough to turn around, but some sections of trail are narrow and you'll likely get pinstripes -...
I have them downloaded in the Avenza app too, the USFS publishes them for digital consumption on that app for free. Good to have a paper copy too though.
Wait are you saying I can load USFS maps into the onboard NAV? I use GAIA and OnX but I'd love to have the maps in the truck for backup purposes in case something happens to my phone.
This was my planned route, starting from the north end and exiting at the south end. the Forebay trail (first left fork heading north) was nothing remarkable and if I did this again I'd skip it. We didn't get to do the American Camp Lookout trail because we were short of time, so I can't speak...
Finishing in Irish butter helps a lot but I forgot to pack butter for this trip. Still turned out decent!
I'm using this induction unit - its portable and gets the job done. I've had it for a year. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YJ6ZPFJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I'm new to offroading, and Leavitt Lake was the toughest trail I've driven yet. I went with a friend of mine, he was driving a stock LX570 (with 20" wheels, tires aired down to 18 PSI) and my '22 PowerBoost is also all stock except for Talon's skidplate and Wildpeak AT4/Ws in the stock size with...
