Before going to the dealer, I popped the hubcap off to find the shorn bolt sitting in there. I took pictures.
Went to the dealer, they asked me if I had an appointment, my name etc and as he was looking it up, he said "Hmm, in for a recall?" and I was like "Yup, this one." and plopped the shorn...
I just got the rattle from my rear passenger side today. They checked the axles less than 3K miles ago as part of the recall and “everything was fine” though they didn’t do a preemptive repair.
I’m taking it in tomorrow.
Bummer.
Anyone using a swing out toolbox on the drivers side? I'd like to get one but its going to block the power panel which I use quite a bit, so I'm wondering if the hive mind here has come up with some creative ideas for our trucks. :)
Are there any high volume 110v shop compressors that would be a good fit for the PowerBoost? I know that we have some gold standard 12V compressors like ARB, but I was wondering that given 110v on board, is there a more cost effective option open to us?
This was with a Skydio drone. It uses a visual lock for object tracking and I have the older one without great radio range, so while it will fly back to where it took off from on a loss of signal, that's not ideal when you're driving down a trail. Long winded explanation for why there were no...
I'm in CA. I bought my truck from Granger over the phone and had a shipper pick it up and bring it to me. Back then the shipping cost me $1500, which was still a big savings over anything I could find locally.
You’ve already taken that hit, selling now you won’t recover that money. Buying a new car again you’ll take a depreciation hit as you drive it off the lot.
I say that as a first time truck owner in the Bay Area in CA who bought an F-150 Platinum in 2022. But I bought from Granger and saved $9K...
I kinda really like how the F150 rides, I guess something like a spacer I could expand and reduce would be ideal but I'll likely not make any changes or have to get a lot better at street parking. :)
Is there a suspension modification that can provide dynamic lift adjustment? The use case is more clearance for bigger wheels but being able to get low for parking garages in town at work etc.
I’m 6’2”. I’ve slept a full night in the drivers seat with max recline when I had a problem with my tent (long story). It was reasonably comfortable for me given what it is but I wouldn’t want to do multiple nights like that.
I am also used to 16 hour transatlantic flights in an economy cabin...
This was my first time planning a trip by myself, I used GAIA and OnX, along with Google Maps to get an idea of the route, the trail surface etc and planned a day trip in Stanislaus National Forest. I had my '22 PowerBoost with FX4 (and Wildpeak AT4Ws) and a friend in his Lexus 570 (his first...
It does this highway braking on I-680 South near Pleasanton too heading down towards Fremont. The speed limit in the truck drops to 55mph when the highway speed limit is 65mph and traffic is moving at 85mph.
It feels very dangerous.
That water pump... my Mazda6 2009 had a 3.7L V6 Ford engine where the water pump is under the timing cover and driven by the timing chain. When my engine's water pump failed at 196K miles, it dumped water right into the oil. That engine was in great shape, but to fix it means pulling it from the...
