For what it's worth, while you stew about how frustrating it is to not be able to purchase your F150 with the features you desire, take the time to spend on lurking in the sister site for the 5th Gen Ram 1500.

It's sounds almost like an echo chamber of this site regarding.

And folks are just as confused about what trim level now lost what features, and when will BSM return, and should I just cancel my order.......

Oh, and a fair share of "where did you hear that?" and "How can FCA just remove a feature on a truck I ordered and not communicate that with the customer?"

Again, I'm not defending Ford.
But I'm convinced that they would love to build the truck the way you want it. And I believe FCA would too. As well as GM.

built in navigation has saved me numerous times throughout different vehicles that i have owned.
There are times where I travel that I don't have any cell service and certainly not data, so the built-in navigation has saved me too.

Ford will be contacting you directly to find out where your truck is so they can come out and remove the satellite antenna. They'll have to do this for every truck built since the 2021 MY, but it is a testament to their commitment to spreading out the misery equally and fairly.
They got to get pass my highly trained attack dogs....14 yr old Chihuahua (aka Doorbell with no teeth) and a 8 year golden retriever that thinks everyone that comes over is so they can pat her....lol

I do believe Ford is doing what they feel is the best for the most customers. Heck, it is still a business that needs to make a profit to stay in business. I just wish they could be more proactive in communication. Like “we are changing out the seats in your truck, because we are having a hard time sourcing them. Would you like another style or wait on the original?” I know it’s a lot to schedule, but it can’t be that much harder than what they are currently juggling.

hate to say it but all the vehicles assemblers are havign same issues with chips that drive certain modules ..good news is a chip builder in USA is making record numbers and profits.
but one would think the option to go connected at later date with an antenae would be a no brainer from ford or gm or ram etc.

I'm so glad i bought my truck off the lot exactly 364 days ago before all the chip shortage news broke 2 weeks later. I will never order a vehicle from any company based on all the bullsh@# that i've read on this forum and others from current folks w orders in limbo.

by the time you are ready for another truck this will all be in the history books. Bad take here to never order a truck in the future.

I was told back last AUGUST by the highest volume RAM dealer east of the Mississippi that I had to order by September if I wanted a loaded 1500 Limited, because the '23 models were losing most of their neat tech features.

man the resale value of these option deleted trucks has to be going down. Id rather have a 21 with all the features than a 22/23 missing all this shit. with all that said ford will be moving to android automotive soon. I kinda wonder if thats playing into this at all?

Maybe it’s a ploy to get people to listen to the new podcast so they can hear where their orders are.

This is a difficult decision for me. We are Sirius/XM subscribers and I was really looking forward to trying the connected nav.

Anyone backing out of their deal due to this?

Yes. Dealer has a call in to Ford to verify. He says some of the "previewing" unbuilt vehicles still show Nav/SiriusXM included and some show it removed. If mine is removed, I'm canceling. I've already removed too much and this would be the last straw. 40k miles per year with no satellite radio or very unreliable satellite through iPhone app is a nonstarter for me.

FWIW, my order is 502A and my dealer called. Still seems like there's not a lot of clear info out there though.
Everyone knows Dealers can't read.

From 5/24 Order Guide:
Ford F-150 Connected Navigation and SiriusXM force removal 1653587167098

And the line in Lariat Trim, not an option for 502a because it comes with Assist 2.0 and Connected Built-In Navigation as part of the trim level:
Ford F-150 Connected Navigation and SiriusXM force removal 1653587507895

So this is just affecting the Connected Navigation (that you would have to pay for to keep using anyway!), not the Connected Built-In Navigation that can still offer directions without the subscription (but with no live info, or updating maps). If you have Assist 2.0 optioned on a , then you also get Connected Built-In Navigation.

My WAG: Nobody is paying for the Connected Navigation after the trial expires. Like me they would have been a bit surprised to realize you had to pay to keep it, then would have just used Android Auto and gone about my life never looking at the Ford map again. They are all just using AA or ACP. Why keep building the system if no one is using it?
