Wireless Apple CarPlay is the bomb. Apple maps. Google maps. Waze. On the Way has integrated weather radar. It’s all good ?
My 22 302A is a rolling delete otherwise lol.

Edit: Thanks to this forum I can still add 4A and adaptive cruise control someday ?

Sorry to hear about the experience. There are pluses and deltas to most things, and one cannot fault you for that relatively lackluster experience with Ford. Unfortunately short of swapping in 2023 parts the 2022’s got hammered with deletes and with the small credits given they considered it done.

Android Auto WAS garbage....2 years ago. All of the goofy issues were resolved in software mid 2022, to the point that I just use the infotainment screen to mirror Android Auto. I have a Pixel 6 Pro which is dated but was a good phone, and I am not sure how much this affects usage. I have found that it sometimes failed to link phone bluetooth and the truck audio, and you have to set a manual exclusion for Android Auto if you are using a VPN.

As for a front facing camera, I have one in my '21 and love it, but I don't know if those were deleted?
I chose the 360 Camera option when I ordered MY22 PB. If the 360 Camera wasn't ordered, the OP probably doesn't have a front camera.

I had a 2019 Silverado with the rear window leak issue that happened three times in less than two years. Brackets behind the back seat started rusting amongst other concerns. I dumped it right before covid prices went crazy and lost out on a few grand. It did not have the front camera and I swore I'd never own a truck without it in the future. So when I custom ordered my 2021 xlt, I made sure to have 360* cameras. Now it is missing 4A and memory seats and I'd like to add them at some point, but with an 8yr/100k mi ESP not sure how that would impact the warranty if there were any issues.

This.

I can understand any bad feelings if you have a mechanical lemon vehicle and are having trouble getting things resolved.

But to be mad at a vehicle because it does not have features that it did not have when you bought it, is silly at best. It is up to all of us to understand what we want, want we need, and is there a match there. If not you have to walk or accept the short comings. Those short comings were the buyer's choice after all.

As I have eluded to before, when I purchased my 2022 Eco-Boost 3.5, I was not able to get certain equipment that I really wanted. (e.g. Extendable towing mirrors, Nav package, Sirius XM)

I was stuck using the Rube Goldberg "Android Auto" instead. I'd like to meet the idiot who came up with that solution in a dark alley. Last night I was attempting to delete a location from the Android Auto. It couldn't be done using the truck display. I had to fumble around in the phone to do it. It was added via the truck display initially.

Two days before, I got a software update on the phone. It totally changed the icons for Android Auto, and in fact I had major difficulty just reconnecting to the truck.

This truck is completely blind to the front when trying to park it. A camera would have made all the difference.

Those factors, and Fords apparent inability to develop a solution for the broken axle bolts, the recalls for the wiper motor, and a defective battery and a defective headlight switch all make me sorry I bought this $60,000 beast. This will probably be my last disappointing "Ford experience." With the truck being 2 years old and having 11,000 miles on it I am extremely unhappy.
Tell you what buddy, If a bad battery, 1 recall and 1 tsb that were all covered under warranty, are going to make you "Extremely Unhappy" to the point your never going to buy another item from said brand you better start walking to the nearest hobbit hole.

A couple frustrating things that annoy me about Ford is it seems like their technicians just can't handle the new trucks and the computer system in them, and part shortages. People shouldn't have to go without their trucks for an extended amount of time because of a part shortages while at the same time Ford keeps pushing trucks down the assembly line. Neither are unique to Ford, but annoying either way.

Most of this problem comes down to training honestly. We have hit that point where every new model year has just all the tech in them. Different systems, materials, software. Its endless. And the dealers just are not able to keep up. I'm not sure if thats on the dealers or the manufactures. I have a buddy that works for an independent shop that get cars new and old from the local Mercedes-Volvo-Bmw dealer because their techs cant work on them. I can see not taking the time and the money to make every tech the absolute "Master Tech". But every dealer should have at least 1 tech that can step in when needed. Obviously you don't want to pay top dollar for a guy that knows everything to be changing oil and such.

I work in manufacturing and see the same thing. The techs they send out can only deal with the simple common issues. "Guessers" my boss calls them. Throw parts at it till it works. Don't usually have the ability to troubleshoot at the component level. Anything more than that and I either need to wait for their regional Service specialist to come out or have to get the manufacturer of the system to come out. Its also not unusual to have to wait a couple of weeks to get service.

training training training.

I know a guy who went to purchase a truck, he was about 350 lb with a bad knee, so he told me he wanted to purchase a full size truck with an automatic, handed up with a Ford ranger with a five-speed just because he saved $4,000. I understand the axle bowl is an issue, and Android Auto updates could be remedied, but when you purchase something that you don't like to begin with due to missing features you're already sitting yourself up for failure. My dad purchased a 301A package XLT, and I have a 302A package XLT and they are night and day differences with the creature comforts and day-to-days uses, I love my 360 cameras, adjustable pedals since I'm 6'2 and I've had no issues with mine being non-max toe. I would say if you purchase another truck whether it's Ford or otherwise you should make sure you get the features you want, that's plain and simple, the rest is just luck of the draw. I have seen many GM forums where they're having bricked trucks, tundra engine failures. If it were me I would probably order a non-max tow F-150 with all the features that I want. Good luck.

late 22 and 23 deletes are wild. I've been attempting to explain the features to my dad who is in the market for an F150 -- the 24 302a has more features than 23 501s (sans seats). 24 XLT 302a has blue cruise and 360 cams standard along with all 8 sonar sensors. 24 302s w/ more features than 23s are cheaper right now in my area.
thats insane! i didnt realize the 24's were optioned up so much at this point.

i agree with this statement. anything mass produced especially at the volume F150's are, are bound to have a bad apple of a vehicle...especially with all the electronics b/c one bad module can spiral to issues with other modules and so on...

but i feel like others have hit the nail on the head it sounds like you settled on a truck that isnt what you really wanted. i would order one you want and be happy, find one on the lot, or switch brands and we'll see ya around sooner or later haha

I thought I would miss 4A, but weather and the flat lands I drive in SW Michigan, I'm on 4H in snow or RWD day to day. Luckily my wife and I seem to use the same seat position, except she like the steering wheel close and I like mine pinned to the dashboard. You get use to what you don't have or don't need!

Back in 2013 bought MY retirement truck, ended badly then a 16, 18, 19,21 amd now have a 22 XLT 302a 2.7 payload package truck going on to 2.5 years.

Old customer once stated when he had bought a new well over $150K tractor and it was sitting next to the road waiting for the dealer to come get it. Well better them mad than me.

Move on life is to short to live frustrated unless that's what you live for!!!

I am skeptics about all is problems,
I just turned over 69k kilometer, I had a bad battery, the dealer made the wiper motor recall, did the trailer cable recall, and replaced RH Mirror chrome cover, that started bubling under the Chrome, and I just replaced the OEM Pirelli, 20 '' By Michelin LTX defender

I wont trade my KR for anything else,
For my business I bought in the past a small Toyota Tacoma,
I finally gave it to some guys to make a off road rig because of the rusted frame problem,
I drove a company supplied Tahoe for a 4 year whitout a working fuel gauge as the delaer had to send the dash out for repair, and could not stop working for 3 week to get it back, and another company suplied the cheapest truck available Dodge Ram,
We where looking very professional outside our customer place waiting for the towing, they always have probleme with wiring, and nobody was ever able to fix the problematic sway I was having going over bump, at highway speed, ( You know the dilatation joint You have on bridge)

My Ford always brought me back home safely,

so if you really have a Ford make sure you have the name in the blue ovale in the front, and work on the relationship with your dealer or just trade it too any other truck dealer brand they will be more than happy to take it in trade-in for a Copy of the best selling truck on the Market.

Best Regards,

I don't think that is on the techs. The proliferation of models and parts gets to a point where changing the spark plugs for a single model year (2021 F150 3.5) requires knowing the month of vehicle assembly. Techs are people too, and vehicles that are not designed to be maintained AND which have nearly infinite variation are a headache. The lack of drain holes on differentials or really the transmission, the extreme proliferation of different options and basic components with a huge variety of different subcategories, "lifetime" and "extended service interval" fluids all speak to vehicles designed to make it to the end of the warranty and then be replaced. The quality of manufacturing and many technical aspects of engine and transmission design is exceptional, but the lack of effort expended on maintenance and to some extent on longevity are at cross purposes, with the first increasing vehicle life while the second shrinks it.

When dealers call me asking if I want an "upgrade", my honest answer is that I am only now finishing my repairs on all of the goofy stuff on this '21 truck, and I have other projects to tackle rather than starting that process all over again.
