As I have eluded to before, when I purchased my 2022 Eco-Boost 3.5, I was not able to get certain equipment that I really wanted. (e.g. Extendable towing mirrors, Nav package, Sirius XM)

I was stuck using the Rube Goldberg "Android Auto" instead. I'd like to meet the idiot who came up with that solution in a dark alley. Last night I was attempting to delete a location from the Android Auto. It couldn't be done using the truck display. I had to fumble around in the phone to do it. It was added via the truck display initially.

Two days before, I got a software update on the phone. It totally changed the icons for Android Auto, and in fact I had major difficulty just reconnecting to the truck.

This truck is completely blind to the front when trying to park it. A camera would have made all the difference.

Those factors, and Fords apparent inability to develop a solution for the broken axle bolts, the recalls for the wiper motor, and a defective battery and a defective headlight switch all make me sorry I bought this $60,000 beast. This will probably be my last disappointing "Ford experience." With the truck being 2 years old and having 11,000 miles on it I am extremely unhappy.

A lot of the issues you're experiencing with Android Auto aren't Ford's fault - Google sets those parameters and Sync 4 just displays what the phone puts out. Google seems to have a spotty track record with Android Auto updates - last major one took out Google Maps for two days on every car I tried it on.

The truck being blind to the front isn't unique to the F150. It seems that the big thing with pickup trucks these days is making the hood taller at the expense of visibility and pedestrian safety. I find the front camera occasionally useful in the city but in the county I got used to it.

I will agree with you - some of the Ford issues are frustrating. I've had quite a bit of warranty work done on my truck which is unacceptable for the price. I'm not sure what your experience with a Ford dealer has been like but mine has been very good at getting issues resolved under warranty. I have three fleet Tahoes at work that burn a quart of oil every 500 km and multiple GM dealers have told me repeatedly there's nothing wrong, they won't pay for warranty repairs, and to buy extra oil.

We can All b![#% about the issues that we have but if you go over to the Dodge/Chevy/Nissan/Toyota forums, it’s the same type of stuff. Buying a truck is like getting married, you have to find the right amount of crazy you can live with! If you put out as many of these trucks as Ford does and with the amount of electronics that give us the convenience that we demand, you bound to have issues.

Terry, that's long been obvious to anyone who has followed your posts on this forum. Every one of them expresses un-ending dissatisfaction about your purchase starting on the day you bought it missing features you wanted.

IMO at this point it really doesn't matter why or how you ended up in this position, and it certainly doesn't matter what other owner's experiences or opinions about their trucks may be.

It's clear that posting on this forum has done nothing to assuage your dissatisfaction, has not yielded a 'fix' to make your truck satisfactory for you, has done nothing to improve the situation as evidenced by your post today. Yeah, one might reasonably wonder why you continue to post, but continuing is certainly your prerogative.

More to the point, I, for one, must wonder why you don't eliminate this source of frustration from your retired life? I'm retired and certainly appreciate it should be a time of long-earned happiness.

I realize there's probably a financial cost involved in that, but aren't there things more important than those dollars in your life at this point? Maybe not a brand-new truck but there is almost certainly a vehicle out there in the marketplace which would make you happier day-to-day and which you can afford.

I urge you to move beyond talking about this thorn in your life and act to remove it. I suggest it's time to stop suffering and diligently look for the more satisfactory solution that is waiting somewhere for you.

Sincerely wishing you the best in your retirement.

I don’t want to argue with your heartfelt terrible experience, but I utilize the 360 camera feature easily and often to aid in parking and assessing my position. It’s amazing and the best of any vehicle I’ve driven to date. It’s strange that we have such opposite experiences with essentially the same vehicle.

Bottom line you should have done a test drive. You accepted truck as is without the features you wanted. This is all on you. Don’t blame a truck that came as it did for not having what you wanted. Sounds like a purchase that you rushed. My 22 xlt 3.5 has been great. Android is your phone choice. Don’t blame the truck

Crazy how trucks can differ so much ! My 22 knock on wood has been one of the best I've had !
Yup. Same here. Zero issues.

And no Sirius XM? I ordered that with zero issues in 2022.

Sell or trade it off.
While mine is a 24, it’s everything I thought it would be……and then some. 101% happy with it

I'm sorry this is happening.
Every once in awhile we get a bad apple... We bought a brand new oven and the elements went out twice within 6 months. Like you, I ditched the oven and got another, (same brand), but this oven is remarkable.
What others experience, including myself, doesn't matter, nor should it take away from your experience.
I'm with the other gentleman. Fold up shop and let 'er go.
You might lose some money on your trade-in but the peace you will gain ends up being priceless.
Good luck and again, very sorry for all this...

May I step in and kick this dead horse? If it wasn't what you wanted...........why did you buy it? As a Ford shareholder, I don't think our bottom line will suffer if you go get a beautiful new Chevy or Ram. From what their owners tell me they're all perfect from day one.

Android Auto WAS garbage....2 years ago. All of the goofy issues were resolved in software mid 2022, to the point that I just use the infotainment screen to mirror Android Auto. I have a Pixel 6 Pro which is dated but was a good phone, and I am not sure how much this affects usage. I have found that it sometimes failed to link phone bluetooth and the truck audio, and you have to set a manual exclusion for Android Auto if you are using a VPN.

As for a front facing camera, I have one in my '21 and love it, but I don't know if those were deleted?

Just a thought, maybe if you can’t drive a vehicle without cameras, warning sensors bla bla then it’s not the vehicle for you. You drive the vehicle it doesn’t drive its self.

late 22 and 23 deletes are wild. I've been attempting to explain the features to my dad who is in the market for an F150 -- the 24 302a has more features than 23 501s (sans seats). 24 XLT 302a has blue cruise and 360 cams standard along with all 8 sonar sensors. 24 302s w/ more features than 23s are cheaper right now in my area.

As for android auto, very intuitive. Do the editing on maps.google.com. Don't waste time dicking around with a phone or the truck. I'm guessing the truck's software is out of date, ford needs to step up their OTA game already.
