Few stops for that goal!67.5 mph
I found running eco mode helps if you are using a light foot. With a heavy foot I seem to get the same milage regardless. I have a 2 in lift with Mickey Thompson ATs and average around 20 mpg.Hi, I bought a 2022 F150 Platinum v6 hybrid today.
I did a city+highway driving on 2-wheel mode today, but the best is 18.8 mpg.
The car has Ironman AT2 tires(275/60R20), I am not sure how much it affects the fuel consumption.
The window sticker and Ford suggests 23 mpg.
Is this right? It is a used car with 31k miles on it, there should not be a problem with the hybrid battery, right?
Thanks!

Well, it was worse than predicted. Exactly 1060 miles in 16:44 total time. We stopped a bit more than I thought we would, including a 35 minute dinner break at a DQ in Stephenville, TX. We hit some heavy traffic due to construction going around Dallas and really high volume congestion out I20 through Weatherford.Im doing 1070 mile run from GA to Texas tomorrow. I’m going to predict we’ll get 21.5 mpg with overall average speed including stops of 67.5 mph. Tune in tomorrow night to see how we did.
The electric motor cannot take up much of the starting. Starting from a traffic light, as the speed approaches 10 miles/hr, the engine will come in with approximately 1.7 RPM based on my driving style which is an old man I believe. Therefore I doubt the capacity of my hybrid battery.Seems like a PB could get much better MPG in city driving if it were programmed to start out in electric mode from a stop. Not sure if the electric motor could handle the torque, but looking at the EV coach when starting from a stop, the MPG drops down to 4-5 MPG. I thought that's what the Hybrid was supposed to do, get you moving in electric mode and then let the gas engine take over when more torque was needed....?
This is crazy, I drove an empty car yet 18mpg. How soon will your engine step in when it takes off? My engine starts when EV mode gets to 10 miles/hr.My tire choice definitely didn't help me....but they look good. My wife's car is capable of 36+ mpg so that is what we take for a lot of our road trips that don't require carrying larger loads anyways.
I'm not going to complain about a 3+ ton vehicle that can still get 25-27 mpg around town on 34" tires though!

I was following EV coach too. I just feel the blue bar for EV is so short which makes me question if the battery's capacity is bad now.I usually get 20.0 MPG. I do drive 85MPH on the freeway if traffic allows and commute home through the city. I was only getting about 18.5, but I was having too much fun in Sport mode and not paying much attention to braking and Electric mode activation. Now I drive with EV coach and play the "Stay in the box" game. Applying brakes at key moments to coax the PT into electric mode helps a lot too.
It does seem like the box shrinks fairly quick at times. At first I thought that was totally capacity driven. I'm not so sure anymore, I started thinking temperature might have an effect as well. Like possibly the battery pack or traction motor are nearing a temp limit and need time to cool. Just a guess, I still got a lot to learn about this powertrain.I was following EV coach too.
