So this tells me I'm good. Empty tongue weight of the RV I'm looking at is 526 lbs. Camper shell weighs 200 lbs spread over the bed of the truck. RV is 5,800 lbs. It's just my wife and I and some cargo in the bed.
Calculator says max tongue weight is 1,096 lbs and max trailer rating is 10,846...
I currently have a Forrest River Campsite Ultra 19kb that weighs in at 5,100 lbs empty. My PB tows it with no problem even though the gas milage sucks. I am now looking at a Brinkley model IX 23 27 ft at 5,800 lbs empty. Trying to decide if this my be too big for my truck.
I have a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs on my truck with about 20,000 miles and they are the best truck tires I have ever owned. I have also owned the Toyo’s and there is no comparison.
Heading to Canada this Summer and was wondering if I need to manually switch to kilometers before crossing the border or if the truck automatically senses that and switches.
My favorite navigator is my Garmin Nuvi that I used in my previous truck. One time purchase with free updates. I still keep under my rear seat as a backup. Works flawlessly.
I use mine because we explore a lot on back roads where there is no cell service. You can plan a route on Apple maps before you head out and it will continue to work with GPS. You can't initiate a route without cell service.
